If Gruden was to become HC at UT, Ithink the most surprising thing will be he loves recruiting. Not dealing with the immature 17 year olds but the fact that he gets to look at a board and say lets get him, him, and him, without having to worry about a contract or a salary cap
From what i 100% know, UT has made the required monetary offer and have also done some admin changes that where required too.
Everything that Jon needed to make it happen, has happened. Currie has cut off a lot of info so the info that comes is spotty and incomplete.
How much longer we got Exile? I'm ready for the boom...
people "in the know" don't know how the rest of us feel like right now ... no offense ... you're confident and we're on the outside hoping for a peek inside, falling apart in our orange hearts.
dto's gruden to tampa thing is gutwrenching because we don't have sources ... you are our sources.
i hope you can understand what i'm trying to say, and honestly, no offense.
If the money is there and they've made admin changes on his behalf, I don't see him not coming.
So in other words, any potential meeting with Tampa could be a cover if Butch is let go earlier than Currie had expected. If JG is 'entertaining' the Tampa position he's not as serious a candidate which causes the growing grumors to die down a bit, allowing the situation to unfold as intended.
Still think that's bad for recruiting, but I've always been in the 'right hire' mindset.
Does that theory resonate at all?
How can you be 100% confident in Gruden coming to UT then all the sudden be skeptical because hes supposingly visiting Tampa?
Either you dont know for sure or youre just full of sh*t.
The only way any of us will know for sure is when Currie actually announces it during the press conference.
Right now, I have no clue what to believe anymore so yea, I can see us getting our hopes up again for nothing.
Similar to 2012.
Some of you are ****in pansies. Not one of The Insiders make you believe a damn thing. Info changes from day to day on a coaching search. Especially high profile searches. You should read and form your own opinion. Confidence in info does not mean it is done. You have to remember the info they share is passed to them

Why are people so worried about who coaches out the season. Butch, Stripling, Hoke...I don't think it really matters. We are God awful. Just chill and let it play out.

I'm having no doubt. Gruden is coming...I really believe what beeves said about the other insiders being a few days behind info, especially since they get it second hand.

Well, if I 100% knew, i would say it.
I hear you. And that makes sense. What I'm saying is that this whole thing has been a roller coaster. Go back to 6pm today. At that point, this place was very optimistic, and not just because of posters on here like DTO or Boro, or OldVol, but because of what Swan said on VQ and how there's been growing optimism toward Gruden coming.
I have heard similar things, which is why I have been optimistic. I'm definitely not as connected as some. But, as I've stated for a while now, it's just been a matter of timing. I've said that and stand by that. The circle of "insiders" started out very small, and I give props to Currie for that. But over the past week it's grown, because of certain developments. Have I seen an MOU or an actual agreement? No. But I'm very confident this gets done.
So don't let a bad loss to Mizzou and 1 comment about how "some think he may be meeting with Tampa" derail your whole thought process here.
Patience.
