I have a question ppl been saying Gruden signed and it was done many diff days, even Tony B said it was signed we’d night on his show last night from someone at the B Ball game.

The only thing Gruden could actually sign would be a MOA type contract right? I mean Tennessee can’t hire a coach when we have one right? Or could CBJ have been notified he was fired already then signed Gruden. Asking because we can’t have 2 coaches at one can we? Do t get me wrong I hope it’s all signed and done and ready to be announced. Early as tomm.

Don't think it would violate any NCAA rule for a new coach to be given a contract with an effective date of "X" as long as the existing coach is released by that date. That way there are never too many coaches on staff at once. Right?

There are many different ways to handle this.... post dated contacts, when did ***** actually sign an agreement etc

You would have thought all those years at law school would have taught you a few things...

A. Never assume
B. Always use big words even if small ones work just as well
C. Always watch for the brake lights on ambulances so you don't smack yourself silly in the pursuit
D. When all else fails, put forward the insanity plea

I just summed up law school in a single post.

Actually, quite the opposite on B.

The ambulance advice is solid. Rear ending an ambulance just feeds that slower attorney chasing you chasing the ambulance

I might be wrong, but one of our Volnation lawyers (Hereforgrumors) spoke about this. Basically no reason we couldn't have 3 head coaches if we wanted.

Per the NCAA statistics guidelines for counting wins etc (page 9) in link

CO-HEAD COACHES
Both coaches must be declared co-head coaches by the institution before the season begins OR at the
time of a coaching change. Both co-head coaches will be credited with the team’s won-lost record.

VFL-82-JP found more specific FBS rules here, so stat policy not whole story

Who all is watching the game tonight? I hope the team can pull one out but with what Mizzou did to Florida I'm not getting my hopes up.

I do believe Butch had been told he won't be back so I want the team to finish out strong for the seniors. At least make a bowl.

I really think Butch is gone no matter if they win out or not.

Well, I was trying to state, in witty fashion, is that it’s actually the non believer for the Grude to come that are the crazy ones. I thought it was pretty clear, but I stand corrected. And to think, I’ve been thinking about that line for a good month before I posted. Swing and a miss I guess.

there's a set limit on here. you're allowed 1 1/2 mistakes per day. grammer and spelling are excluded cept using an a in Peyton's name.

I will be going to the UK basketball game tomorrow. I really want to bring either fire Butch sign or Gruden to the Hill....soon sign

Thx I have been wondering about this, and I frankly had no idea. I figured you have to fired one coach and hire another one. Even if it was that way I’m sure they could keep it quite for a week or so anyway. I know Tony B is a non believer but swain believes it’s close with his sources. But last night that text Tony got did t look fake his face looked shocked.

I also find the comments about JG’s Super Bowl being with Tony D’s players ridiculous. By that logic, he made the AFC Championship game two years in a row with “his own players” in Oakland.

And honestly was a bull**** tuck rule call from winning the super bowl in oakland.

for all the posters that don't believe gruden will succeed here (not coached in college, not coached in 400 years, yada yada) ... do you trust Peyton? do you trust Fulmer?

Their judgment call is that he'd do well here, or else they wouldn't be involved in it at all.

There you go preach. Real Grude assessment.

Would imply there is nothing wrong with it...

This is one reason why I think Butch hasn't been formally fired.

There is no way Gruden could install any of his system or really impact the outcome of this season. I think neither the AD or him wants to saddle him with any losses because of Butch' s cluster of a season.
