The CBJ deal is done! Signed sealed and delivered, he is done was told two weeks ago per a son of a big booster. The AD told Butch they would let him go on their time, when it's best for them. All buyouts have been bought by Haslam including all staff that will NOT be coming back. A New announcement more than likely is coming Sunday REGARDLESS if we win or not.

This is what I saw earlier. No offense, but who are you?

My brother is a UT alum and donor (not in a major way though). He got his medical degree, served his "payback" time serving in the Gulf War patching up our wounded and then used the experience gained there to serve as an E.R. doc in Johnson City. He loves the vols and his son is marching in the Pride. He was so down about not only the state of TN fball but also the leadership that led to the CBJ disaster. He doesn't follow the forums and he was so disgusted I just had to share some tidbits with him about the change in leadership at the top and among the donors and topped it off with a graphic I borrowed from here that showed the stadium with the words "A STorm is coming". Because I am proud of him and all our vets I felt compelled to share his response. He was so excited and I want to thank you all for helping a true vol and true vet have some hope. Here was his response:

"It's like they heard my screams!! I've been preaching to all who would listen that we need radical change, not just a new coach. According to my sources, we are the richest school in the SEC.....by a LONG shot. We can afford to have the best.....OF EVERYTHING. Tennessee's trademark is INCONSISTENCY. It has been since I was a little boy playing in the yard while Dad had the game blaring through speakers out the windows of our house on Bonny Kate. They're good, they're bad....up and down......what TN needs, what they HAVE to do, is grow a "heritage of quality." (I coined that phrase myself ). We have to do something radical, something expensive, so that EVERY top recruit in the country will want to come and be part of what's happening. These kids are looking over college ball to the NFL. For most, it's their ONLY shot at a really good life. They're not going to choose a school where we lose (TO ANYBODY) 41-0!!!!!! We have to give them a reason to come here (e.g. to get to work with the new UT boss, Coach Manning). We have to do something out of this world that will have ESPN talking about it for weeks....something that will draw attention to us and make those REALLY great recruits choose us, instead of Fl, Al, Ga, Ohio State, Notre Dame, etc. We have to give them a reason!!!!!"

Thanks for your indulgence for my too long post and thanks to all our vets for your service.

Sorry I am not good at attachments

Thank for the attachment.

I find the discrepancy in the information that has been presented re: the Haslams to be interesting.

1. Haslam allowing Gruden access to Pilot planes.
2. The attachment that says Haslam does not want Gruden.
3. The Big Boosters are all rowing together.

You would think folks would do a better job of formulating and executing their respective disinformation campaigns.

Lol, ok. :)

OK, because I have slept on adn off during the last 5 years, I thought I'd re-read the Original Original Jon Gruden threads, but I need some links. (Maybe the first few don't show up on my obviously inept Advanced Searches because they were on their own forum, which is now closed, which seems to be a search filter.

Anyway, does anyone have a link to the first Gruden thread (don't know if it was actually titled Gruden I) or to Gruden III? I have these:

Pre-Gruden, mostly 2008 with a few 2010: - Jon Gruden (Tampa Bay Bucs) discussion

Gruden I - don't have it

Gruden II - Official Jon Gruden Thread II (merged)

Gruden III - don't have it :sad::sad:

Gruden IV - Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Gruden V - Official Jon Gruden Thread V

Gruden VI - Official Jon Gruden Thread VI

And so on.

I'll come back and edit if anyone supplies links for I and III. :hi:

lol I had forgot I started a Gruden thread on the way he said Tennessee Volunteers. 10-30-12

Well, I just killed two hours trying to find old posts of mine. Why is this so hard to do on VN? Why does Google only seem to go back to Gruden VI and not earlier? I'm sure there's a way to do it, but I haven't found it yet.

Anyway, the best I've come up with are some of my posts on Gruden VI. But as just-a-fan who knows nothing about coaching and all, I was just doing some general cheerleading.

So as Smokin' Bob so aptly said, I'm a Grudenite by virtue of longevity. But I sure wasn't taking bullets for it. Hats off:hi:to the true OG's.

:toast:

Did Geronimo get that job yet?

I haven't been able to get in touch via Twitter, but that's probably on me. I only use it to follow sports feeds. He asked me to tweet at him with his handle (which was my first tweet ever) so he could DM me.

Honestly, I'd rather my request die a quick death. This really isn't the place to market myself and I had a weak moment.

My wife and I watched "Tombstone" again the other night. Was Kilmer even nominated for an Oscar? One of the best performances I have ever seen.

Love that movie. The scene where he kills Johnny Ringo reminds me of Grude Awakening when he says"poor soul you were just to high strung" Lol

Yeah, there was a lot of merging going on in the early days. 10/30 would put your thread in (guessing here) Gruden IV? V?

I would really love to see the first thread, whatever it might have been called. How did all this craziness get started??

I've found my posts back to 10/29 in Gruden IV. No clue if there were any earlier.
