Here’s my take on why something could or couldn’t happen this weekend. I’ve thought since Ky that the hire has nothing to do with W-L record. Especially with the Kendrick and Davis situation adding fuel to the fire. So why this weekend? If they lose, which is a high probability, bowl eligibility is all but gone. Nothing to gain by keeping him. But the admin hasn’t been doing what we think they should for whatever reason so no reason to believe they will now. Unless something actually did happen 2 days ago that allowed the timing to be moved up. So what was it?

Exactly....see a lot of us have been around. I used to post under another name but darned if my old brain can remember any of the usernames, passwords etc. like some around here can.

Hey 4 eyes. The old timers in McMinn say mac minn. its neighbors are Monroe. They say Mon Roe.

You mean anyone with information that conflicts with the agenda is no longer connected? I personally like hearing all sides of the story, it will work itself out in the end anyhow.

We'd be 4-6 with a loss, and it would be an upset if we won. I guess there's rationale thought that with a loss there could be an announcement....or the investigation is complete.

If we're running a week behind on info, which has been insinuted, then it would seem major pieces of the staff should be in place. This lends some credence that they could make an announcement and pick back up on recruiting with the incoming staff.

Wasn't it mentioned there is some OV's set for the Vandy game? If so doesn't it only make sense an announcement happens before then?

  • Gruden, as the founder of the FFCA, has a public image he'd like to maintain of being good to the coach he is replacing.
  • Butch, as much as we may want to see him go, seems like he has genuine care for his players. He'd like to finish the season with them.
  • The players like Butch, and have played hard for him. They may want to send him out on a high note/finish what they started.
  • The assistants have major issues (as reported), and having an interim may be more distracting than just letting Butch finish out.

I assumed that as well. With any other player suspended that may come up while he's still here I didn't know if media would say it's forcing Currie's hand.
