Don’t know if posted but Kiffin said on Clay Travis this morning he didn’t think Gruden will coach colllege football. He thinks if he coaches it will be NFL. This is based off of their relationship not anything he said to Kiffin. Good interview.

I understand this line of thinking, but at the same time I just don't see a lot of realistic P5 homerun hires out there. Most of the ones we could realistically get have some level of warts.

Naming Gruden the replacement makes no sense until after the season. He wouldn't be able to legally recruit and he wouldn't be able to hire any staff. Also, the staff on campus would checkout completely with two games left.

I agree with you. The point of my post is that so many UT fans get hooked so easily on things they read on the internet. Take this thread as an example - countless posts from mainly random people on TOS or posts of tweets from mainly random people. Most of them have little or no credibility.

Clearly, I think Gruden as a legitimate candidate is a long shot. I could list many reasons why, but that's not the point.

For me, I think it is clear that Butch will not be our coach in 2018. Otherwise, has anyone reliable even really released a reasonable potential candidate list? So many of these rumors comes down to the fact that the UT AD has remained silent, and given the world we live in today, many folks just can't handle that.

What's unbelievable about that is that Currie would have ANY contact with anyone other than Butch Jones about our head coach position, at the moment.

He won't do that until the position is vacant and it damn sure won't be some random dude on Twitter that reports it.

My wife has chronic back pain and was talking with a friend (who also has back pain)... She started sleeping on the floor, flat on her back, no pillow.

I might as well play XBox all night. I would sleep more.

Yeah, I was here for that, too. I thought Hargis was the most surprising. I know people are down on Boro, but Ainge was talking about him and his son on his show. He has connections, so I think there was something going on in 2012. I just hope this is the real deal this time.

That's what got everyone rilled up in 2012 when it fell through.

A lot of premature posting going around. I appreciate the info but I'd rather those who are supposed insiders to keep that particular information to themselves until he's at the podium.

I know theres a ton of supposed "insiders" going on about gruden and all the turmoil in the football program right now but one guy who i used to always see drop quality nuggets from time to time that were almost always accurate was Skeeter, anybody seen anything from him on here in awhile? And if so has he addressed any of the grumors etc?

In terms of mentioned possibilities, I think Taggart would have the strongest possible immediate impact. Mullen with the SEC ties would be able to use those relationships. Both could salvage the class.

Don't think Chip, Petrino, Patterson, Peterson, or Gundy are likely options.

And while I like his potential and coaching ability, I don't think many recruits know who Scott Frost is. Relative unknown for many of these high schoolers.
