Wreck some people? Some of y'all are so much drama

I could see it happening. Have you not been to the Gruden thread and see how pissed people get when somebody says Gruden isn't coming. Some joke, but others are not. I can see mattresses burning because people are more bought in this time. The banner hanging in front of Neyland that said "Butch did 9/11" is enough for me to see.

Hutch 7 just said on VQ it’s a done deal. He’s the poster who claims his wife is the cousin of Cindy.

What was hutch saying last time around? It’s fun to follow and I know we’re going after him but just can’t go full gruden knowing how things were in 2012.

I'm not a "Grudenite", but at this point...it's Gruden.

Has to be. It's not that there are too many signs, or too much smoke.

It's that there's too much silence about it from the principals.

Go Vols.

Other than JG,

Who does everyone think would have the most immediate impact on recruiting once announced?

Who do you think has the most relationships built up with SEC level talent?

Who do you think could quickly salvage this recruiting class the most?

Who do you think could pull the most surprises come signing day?

Are we assuming chip Kelly is out? I would say Frost

Even if you believe we're getting Gruden nothing makes sense about a Sunday announcement. If we lose Butch could very well be fired. An announcement of that makes sense.

Naming Gruden the replacement makes no sense until after the season. He wouldn't be able to legally recruit and he wouldn't be able to hire any staff. Also, the staff on campus would checkout completely with two games left.

A Gruden announcement Sunday is unlikely. A Butch firing is not. They won't just fire and hire ancoach at same time. There will be a 24-48 he window of time between fire and hire for show even if a deal was done. Also wouldn't do a Gruden announcement on a Sunday anyway. Nobody watches ESPN on Sunday/Sunday night and your competing with whatever's NFL stories come from that day. If it's a hire of the magnitude of Gruden it's going to be on something like a weekday morning or Saturday morning when people are watching the headline across that ticker all day and night and it can be the lead story of every show on tv

After thinking about, you and GFW are probably right. It would wreck SOME people lol 😂

Vols fans have been known to burn mattresses

After the press conference I’ll be like

“I’m so fired up”

I’m a sheep

In fairness everyone will probably be that way if for some reason it fell to a brohm. The guy can fire people up. Guy is a mad man. Seriously will never get over his XFL interview. He could just play that on repeat at his presser

jsp, you ask a lot of questions...

Definitely.

Likely pretty high up there, in that top group. But I also think there are a few options in that top group that make more sense to him financially and from an operational stand point.

Guy like Gruden comes in and demands A LOT.

Gotta remember curries only been here a year and if you have a football coach coming in demanding full operational autonomy there will be some issues with that. And the risk, if say, I*t* doesn’t work out with Gruden as a coach. Whether that’s compliance, academic, or even on the field. And that’s got to be weighing on his mind. Fact is, if Currie hires JG and I*t* doesn’t work out, I*t* would be tough to overcome. Whereas, if he hires a Brohm, Taggart, etc. you get guys who are much less demanding as far as autonomy is concerned and NCAA compliance etc; & benefit of the doubt if things don’t work out.

Gruden is asking for a lot of autonomy here and that to me is what i see as the biggest detractor in the mind of Currie IMO

Sorry for the fragmented post I’m not able to sit down and type this one out

Thanks for the reply. I've been of the same mind in that I've always thought this was more about us than it was about Gruden and I understand it. I think you put it pretty well. Gruden doesn't really want to work FOR us and maybe not FOR anyone else but he'd likely take the position if he had autonomy and a lucrative pay package for himself and his staff. jmo.

Lot's of people putting their E-cred on the line by saying Gruden will be our coach--done deal.. Interesting.

Don't know why the anti-Brohm stuff started. It's ridiculous. Played in the NFL 7 years. QB/OC for a lot of years leading up to the WKU HC job where he goes 30-10 in 3 seasons. Now trying to turn Purdue into something it hasn't been since Joe Tiller.

I think many of us would rather not see another up and comer. If Tennessee still believes Bama is its rival l, we need to act like it when we make coaching hires IMO.

They did last time too. And they were mostly forgiven when wrong.

More than a few of those insiders don’t know any more than you or I, they just tag along when the rumors start flowing.
