I drove to Fox and hound in newport in 2012 to see if Gruden was there as was rumored in the board....OG status confirmed

i remember this, and i wanted to call my in laws in newport to ask them to go find out.

my question is ... was he?

If he was I didn't see him. But it took me a little while to get there so he may have already left by that time. I was trying to remember why it was rumored he was there?? Does anyone actually remember that? I mean I know his in laws live close enough to go eat there but I can't remember the whole story. I try to put bad memories behind me

Sounds like its down to who u believe. We have some posters w elaborate stories of drama and intrigue behind the scenes with the boosters fighting over gruden...then others saying none of that is going on...and gruden isn't being discussed or even considered. There should be a way to expose or punish those that came here just to troll and BS everyone. Still hoping there's something to the gruden stuff. Yesterday it looked good. ..today completely different stories. Grude news hoped for.

It's hard to confer OG status to lurkers in the early Gruden threads.

Many OG's suffered mightily for the cause. Many are no longer with us....pause for respect....because of their involvement. Sacrifices were made to carry the banner.

Be introspective with your requests. Can you REALLY say your an OG?

Me too. I read every word in 2012, but had blocked it out until the GA game this year. I thought, "I wonder what the VN folks are saying." A giant smile spread across my face when I saw a Gruden thread up and running. I jumped right back in.

i was there lurking too, did't post until the vic grider rumors took off here in the noog.....quit cold turkey, was glad to see the board up and running again....this time has definitely been fun....lots of pieces to several puzzles thrown into a big pile.....

So the one person on the message boards that his word is the gospel just spoke tonight....and in regards to Gruden as our coach...Soon! TIFWIW but this confirmation is right next to John Currie himself introducing Jon Gruden as the Head Coach.

Then you had the turdmunches that would rather be bad at football just so they can rub it in your face because you were wrong.

My post was buried rather quickly in the OG chest thumping.

As he told someone after the last set of grumors 5 years ago. I'm not the one who said I was a candidate so why you I say I'm not. I do think he likes the chatter out there about him coaching again whether it's Tennessee, Tampa Bay or some other job somewhere.

So I don't see him killing any rumor. And I'm not sure he's as happy as he was five years ago doing MNF and I think MNF is in trouble at ESPN. So his outlook on his next step in life is probably different than it was 5 years ago.

So I went back and read some of the replies to Trey Wallace when he first broke the Kendrick story. People were saying he was making it up and it was "fake news" funny looking back at how wrong they were.

Tifwiw, but I just received a text from another friend that has contacts with a couple of larger boosters. He's saying everything is agreed to in principle. Butch has accepted a negotiated, reduced buyout. Gruden has accepted. No ink dry but very close.
