If Mullen had Scott Frost’s appearance then I think people would want Mullen more. Then he would have the “it” factor.

Do you think Gruden is obviously a much much better hire than Mullen? If so, we agree 😁

I honestly don’t see why it’s obvious. It’s all assumptions on Gruden in the college level. Who knows how well he game plans for spread offenses, can teach his offense to mostly non nfl caliber players, wants to recruit etc.

They didn’t get caught up last time. Lws and jav (and others) in 2012 consistently contradicted the insiders. Not to mention Hubbs. This time they are much more positive.

That gives me more hope this go around.

I do believe TN has reached out to Gruden and it would be weird if he didn't at least hear them out. I don't think Larry has truly suggested anymore than that though.
That's really far from "my super duper, top secret times infinity, source confirmed that the papers have been signed" Gruden thread.

Lol, if Gruden does come because of ESPN possibly dropping MNF, a few bs artists are going to become internet gods. Life be crazy.

Here's my thing with the Grumors: I don't really think the percentages being laid out to us by the insiders make any sense.

By all accounts Tennessee has given Gruden everything he wants. The administration is at 100%.

So either Gruden takes the offer or he doesn't. It seems to me the percentage is either 0% or 100%. The escalation of "I felt 50/50 a week ago" and "now it's closer to 70%" doesn't make sense unless we keep sweetening the offer.

Gruden was talked about for a little bit today on the radio in Atlanta in regards to both the Tennessee and Tampa jobs.

The hosts just kind of went over the end of his time in Tampa and the decline if the team. It kind of started declining when Rich McKay left and Gruden got control over personnel. McKay had drafted Lynch, Sapp, Brooks and there were 4 other pro bowl starters when he left.

Sounds like majority of NFL HCs that get GM power. A lot harder in NFL with draft, free agency and salary caps. Saban sucked at it and Kelly sucked at it. Pretty sure they build college rosters just fine.....college you go find 25 great players every year with no worries about can you afford them today /tomm/next yr etc. you just evaluate and recruit whoever you want. If they don't pan out churn and burn/have them transfer etc. in NFL your stuck with a contract

If we hired him after 4 years at MSU people would be pumped.

The job, not the coach, has made a possible Mullen hire seem less exciting.
