I’m sitting here talking to my dad about Gruden wanting to get back into coaching.

My dad said he’s been out of coaching so long that he’ll never get back into it. He’s going to stay with ESPN.

Boy, is he going to be shocked. :)

I turned my dad into a Grudenite. Work harder. 😃

Oh my god. I forgot Beaver in my thank you letter.
I didn’t mean it, Beav. No scotch for me. 😞

No thanks needed. I just hate when folks don't bother to think about the actual facts. Seems like a decent idea - its just half cracked.

With all the smoke and mirrors of a process like this - the least we can do is not get confused by obvious misinformation.

I don't know anything about what's going on behind the scenes, but I do know about what is and isn't possible. In the world of transactional law - you can pretty much do whatever the heck you want to do. Willing buyer, willing seller. That's all it takes. How far you go depends on how willing you are to close the deal.

Keeping secrets as a public institution is wrong - as a policy matter. But no one wants transparency at the cost of effectively doing business. Just make sure we can follow the math afterwards - and it all works out.

I see a lot of things living, working and interacting with people here in Knoxville, simply doing what I do. There are altruistic forces at work and I see the Haslam House is falling.
The current trial will definitely lead to Jimmy's indictment, and I think the University, whether intentionally or not, will distance itself from the family.
Jim Sr. obviously has dementia and Jimmy has broken down. Dee runs the Browns. When he is indicted he will be forced to sell to Dee. That is where they are at right now. That turmoil has not been addressed in this this thread I believe, but it has consequences for UT. In a vacuum of power, new power will rush in to fill.

Can someone post an update if there is any new info? Twitter is all about Mullen.

Hey noobs. That's not how this works.

We have regularly scheduled updates from Grand Vol, who is nice enough to take the time to prepare same, for little to no pay.

Do what the pros do and read through on your own. You don't have to get every word, skimming is ok. But the Gruden Thread is not about spoon-feeding the lazy. :)

When all of this is said and done and those of you stars have moved on, I just want to be remembered as the quiet kid who sat in the corner and was just happy to be a part of the club.

That's the magic of the Gruden thread. Everyone is a star, the negas will have to atone.

Hey! RetiredArmyVolDad, I was also East Ridge. Our Principal Mack Franklin player on General Neyland's 1951 National Championship team and Captain 51' or 52'.

Hi Pete

I didnt know that until recently. I graduated from ER in 81. He is a wonderful man and great principal. His youngest son, Greg was in my same class. I ran CC/Track for Coach Mickey Haddock back then. Do we know each other?

Good evening everyone. A couple of things after catching up (which took me 2 hours btw):
1. Wow! The thread is moving super fast like it was in XX - XXV again.
2. Lots of positive vibes and mega-insiders popping in with good stuff. The fact that the media is starting to talk about it makes me feel even better about it.
3. My daughter will be born in January. It makes me smile inside knowing she will get to grow up in the Gruden era.

Congrudeulations....I know...groan....:swoon3:
