What will Tennessee fans do when they find out Haslam was upset Ergen was making calls in Knoxville and he stole Gruden to become the next head coach of the Browns.

Jon Gruden is from Ohio, BTW.

@allenbell247

Sorry guys, have no idea how to post a tweet.

Riot

If this stuff about Haslam is really true he needs to go

Gruden won a title with Dungy players because dungy couldn't win a title with them. He happened to beat his own players at Oakland. So basically all the players in the super bowl could be credited to Gruden as well.

This whole debate is stupid. You don't just win a super bowl by luck. It also wasn't like Gruden was the GM. He was just the HC coaching the players given.

So let's say Dungy can't win a Super Bowl without Peyton, belicheck can't win a super bowl without Brady, guess they are bad coaches too then

Skipping the point that Dungy couldn’t take HIS players to the Super Bowl, also. Somewhere Gruden outcoached a future Super Bowl winner.

He tweeted it in response to the trey Wallace tweet about the Haslems letting Gruden use their planes, FWIW.

Strong would have Florida rolling again imo. He would kill it with in state recruiting and bring back their dominant defense. If he gets the right QB he can win big. Would rather see them end up with somebody else honestly.

I wouldn't want him here but I think that job was built for him.

But if we get Gruden I don't care who anybody else gets.

UT has raised $50M in private gifts for the $340M stadium reno. The Haslams donated $30M-- above and beyond their academic donations and contributions to the school of business. So no one's pulling off a coup to oust the Haslams, unless they have about $100M to spare.

If Gruden is hired, it will either be a once in a generation Hire or it will be catastrophic to the Athletic dept and will crush TN Football. I really don't see an in-between.

I hope it's the First.

I just don't want to hire a coach cause he's going to be a splash. I want the best FOOTBALL coach that is going to turn us into a championship level football team every year. If that's Gruden then so be it.

I just don’t see his hire this way. I will confess his tenure could look like Harbaugh at Michigan where he doesn’t win quite as much as we hope (at least early). But just like Michigan we would be immediately restored to national prominence. I think Gruden would also recruit at a level we haven’t seen since Fulmer in the 1990s. He will also take in money for the university.

Even if his tenure somehow ends without a national title, I’m convinced beyond all doubt it will be an enormous win for our program and will set us up very well long term.

But I also think he would get a title for us...

And so many fans are showing disrespect for that generosity! I don't get why we should be anything but appreciate for what that family has allowed us to build.

I'm much more afraid of Frost there, but any good competent coach would have a chance to do well there. If we want to compete with them, then we need an upper tier coach, not just competent. Is Mullen upper tier? I do not know. Maybe.

I don't understand why the Haslams would pour all this money into a crap product.

#ImWithLarry. I choose to believe the boosters are on the same page. Don't think we land Gruden, but I have to believe they're ready to swing for the fences.

Bring me Mullen.

Sup Ron.

I’ve joined you man. I think it’s happening this time. Too much real smoke this time. I’m choosing to believe.

That s pocket change to the Dish Networks Ergen.
Now, whether he wants to give UT that much is the big question.
