I love it. Also have several other Kimbers, and for the price, they're great 1911s out of the box.

I have several Xd's, xdm, and xds ive carried, but always come back to the 3" kimber.
I also carry a Sig p238 in the summer when wearing shorts, and a tank top or T. Love the Sigs too!

Good stuff. You cannot go wrong ever with Kimber or Sig IMO. I've not met a gun owner yet that had a Sig that would not say they loved them.

Some General Business 101 for some posters that don't get that side of it. Also, a summary of how I see it at this point. Ignore if bored with it all.

The final compensation for a coach such as Gruden has nothing to do with us. Don't even know why it is being discussed other than for shock value. The big boosters will have to provide the money and there will be some kind of assurances/accounting for it in advance required. The final number will include a whole list of incentives. The bet is on the success on the field translating into financial success of the program for UT. Sure, most likely they will tack on $5-10 per ticket at some point - would you not pay it to have Chucky roaming the sidelines in Neyland? Count me in.

Jon probably wants to come out whole in the financial transaction. I would for my family's sake. ESPN contract plus endorsements/advertising plus speaking fees/clinics. UT and as a result the state, have restrictions on the outside income of its employees. Add in NCAA regs. He has existing contracts to negotiate, terminate, modify, etc. All of that takes time, attorneys, CPA, his agent's involvement, etc.

IMO and only my personal assessment, this is and has always been about whether he wants to coach at UT. IF he has made that determination; Jon still has his jobs to do, a family to take care of, involvement in the aforementioned, a staff to preliminarily assemble, etc. It is no wonder that all of that takes a lot of time to get done. It also explains why Currie has been tight lipped and Butch is still coaching. Keep it as status quo as possible to provide time to make the changes. Cade Mays and other commits decommitting will not change what or when something happens. I still believe Butch is on a week to week and UT does not want to have a 4-8 record. It may happen anyway regardless of the HC because this team is in a mess that cannot be resolved this season. So, if people are holding out hope for a bowl game they may be disappointed unless we sneak in with a 5-7 record. Would be great for it to happen for all of the extra practices, but I am skeptical it can happen based on what I have seen.

If Gruden is not our HC going forward, it is because he doesn't want to be. Most now understand it was further along in 2012 than they realized. It has grown well past that now. IMO. It all adds up to him coming, doesn't mean he will, just adds up that way. I place virtually no stock in what "insiders" say. I am speaking about watching how it has all transpired, listening to the local/national talking heads, knowing what ESPN/NFL are experiencing, understanding what makes Jon tick and his family situation - and then applying some logic.

I will not invest any more hope into it until I see him at podium. There are quality coaches we can hire if he chooses not to do it that can restore the program to a high level.

Great Post!

From LWSVOL on TOS:

on 247 I asked the question. Someone asked something like him being the home run and winning us a championship in three years.

How can anyone know when or even IF he can win a championship here? He hasn't coached in college in almost 30 years and he hasn't coached anywhere in 10 years. Things change pretty dramatically in any field across 10-30 years. People think differently and have to be managed differently. So there is no way to predict if Gruden will win here or not.

Will he improve Tennessee? I hope and believe so.

Will he bring excitement and juice to the program day one? Absolutely.

Will players respond to him? I hope so.

Can he put together a great college staff that understands college football and what is needed? I hope so and think he can.

Can I guarantee any of that? No. Can Currie? No. Can millions of dollars? no

Larry is talking like it's a done deal. Did he slip up?

Gruden, during the pregame on MNF the other night, said something like "live your hopes, not your fears". Now, while he was talking about Green Bay's Brett Hundley, I couldn't help but think he was perhaps referencing himself.... ? Maybe not, i just thought it was interesting the way he said, his facial expressions, and the obvious UT coaching drama.

He also said Volunteers. He’s coming.

Actually the opposite. He's questioning whether or not Gruden is worth the investment from an administrative standpoint.

I get that but instead of using "would" or "could" he's using "will". Just found it interesting. At a minimum he's addressing it unlike he's done before.

He's asking whether his word choice of "will" and "can" vs "would" and "could" indicates a slip up as to LWS's level of certainty of Gruden coaching here.

Personally, I wouldn't read too much into it.
