Official Jon Gruden Thread 30

If I understand it all properly, one member of the community passed by a certain hotel on the west end of Knoxville today, and saw the Monday Night Football production trucks pulled up there (or moving vans craftily decorated to appear to be MNF production trucks, we're still not sure which).

So the community scout, Sara, got on the phone and tricked the hotel staff into neither confirming or denying, which is of course, a confirmation just of a different sort.

And then another community scout (Tasty maybe?) drove by and confirmed that, indeed, those trucks are there, right now, live. And there are now 5 of them.

Folks have pointed out that while you might take the interstate route that passes through Knoxville to get from Green Bay (this week's MNF locale) to Charlotte (next week's site), it's not the most efficient route. And it is extremely odd that the drivers would leave that route to go to the west side of town for a hotel when there are better-situated hotels in east Knoxville, on their route without detour.

Another member of the community pointed out that those rigs have the extended cabs, and why would any trucker pay $$ for a hotel room when he's got a crib for free and doesn't even have to pack a suitcase?

So that's kind of where we are right now with the trucks, the whole thing about Bubba and the bitcoins is a separate deal (we think. so far). And Daniella seems to be a separate deal, too, we believe. Honestly, no one is explaining her role in all this, which I find suspicious.

Oh yeah, and that exit with the hotel in west Knoxville? Same exit as Jon Gruden's house, they say.

Hope I didn't leave anything out.

Oh that last tidbit slays...

Anybody listen to Chris Childers and Rick Neuheisel every morning on Sirius College Sports?
Monday morning Childers said, "Rick won't be here today, he's in Knoxville, Tennessee, take that anywhere you want to go with it"...

Thought it was strange.

Who here is the resident twitterologist to find out who @ajett89 is? He is confirming a done deal with Gruden

Don't know who he is, but he did tweet Gruden to Tennessee at end of season. 10 million a year and 5 million allotted for staff. You heard it hear first sources confirmed

We don’t have time for that nonsense! We’re trying to figure out why the MNF crew is hiding out at the Holiday Inn Express on Cedar Bluff exit! Lol...

Seriously, Tuesday is friends with Tee and can confirm this pretty easily. I believe so far he’s stated Tee hasn’t been contacted at all.

These MNF trucks are what the Magicians call Misdirection. while we’re all looking at the trucks...JG is probably on the other side of town to sign on the dotted line.

Be alert VolNation, the Grude may walk amongst us tonight.

SOON!

It's the Kansas City Shuffle.

Thought it was strange.

He was speaking at the Knoxville qb club. This was confirmed by him listed as a speaker on their website

Where is goinuponatuesday. He says he is Tee's Friend.

If you have more than one driver, you have double the hours of driving time. The husband just chimed in, bless his logistics bammer soul, that team drivers are pretty rare and used only in very time sensitive routes. It's more expensive to have two drivers than one. No idea if espn has teams.

I would argue that it's cheaper in a team-driven truck. The route has to be covered, regardless of the path. With two drivers, you practically never have to stop other than for fuel, meals, bathroom breaks, etc. With a single driver, the truck is almost continuously running... uh oh, more fuel to run a truck, while idling for sleep, when it could be moving, covering the ground that will have to be covered to get to whereever it's going. Team drivers may make more due to sharing miles, but I doubt it's more expensive to operate a team driven truck. Not a trucker by trade, just using common sense deductions.

Thought it was strange.

It has been discussed. He spoke at the QB Club.

NAILS, why are you trying to kill the vibe. You are now banished to the Humdrumvee with dci and Boca

And Cracker Barrel, never forget the wonderful Cracker Barrel!!!:)

How the heck did I forget the Cracker Barrel? Right across the street from the truck stop.

Really, this exit is perfect for truckers. Easy access to food and hotels. Easy in, easy out.

Cedar Bluff? Even I avoid it in my own car if I can.
