Most operations like this, and other similar ones, like NASCAR etc., have team driven trucks. Therefore, that eliminates the theory that they had to stop due to DOT mandates.

That's true, but sometimes its nice to get out of the truck.

btw... I do not drive a truck. I know a lot that do and every couple of days its nice to take a shower somewhere besides the Pilot.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, so I'll throw it out there.

These are OTR trucks with sleeper cabs. Why are they at a hotel and not at an off-ramp, a rest area or an obscure truck stop?

If they're just "on their way" to Charlotte, they could've kept driving in or stopped somewhere besides a hotel in a heavily trafficked part of town.
