Keep in mind I said 7 figures I don’t know if it was even amounts by pledge or not. Also in that world those are not outlandish amounts. I just found it interesting given everything that is going on the money is still rolling in.

I want to see unity to get the job done to hire a good coach as much as anything.... that is reason for my optimism :hi:

I have asked previously on here with no response...

I wonder what role (if any) Sexton is playing in all of this.

Everthing is conjecture at this point because Currie seems to be tight lipped. I think that Sexton is a pretty powerful player in the coaching industry and could try to leverage our situation in that he is trying to get his client a job (Butch) and maybe a pay raise for another client (Mullen). Its all about the $$$

When discussing the Mays decommit with Mr. SFD last night, we were wondering if Gruden might be wanting a bunch of kids to decommit. That way he gets to go pick his own instead of dealing with all the offers that have already been made.

if anything it weakens any hold outs behind scenes that are give Butch a chance people. Father prob did it to make a statement . They will wait and see what transpires. in regards to Gruden..Not that kid..he would welcome him with open grinding Grudes

Well the business isn't nothing without the fan base. That has more to do with the Tennessee tradition than the administration. Fans, students and the proud fanbase that gives to the University is why Tennessee has the resources it has to begin with. Fans are the life blood, and donor donations help pave the way athletic and academic. The administration is on the clock, I think they have enough sense to not infuriate the hand that keeps them fat. BOTTOM LINE! SOON!!!! Change is coming to the HILL! GRUDEN TO THE HILL!

I agree with what you are saying, however the money guys are old men who want their way. They will still have their money if fans don't buy tickets or gear. They also know the game tickets will still be purchased by somebody regardless. Whether it's the opponent or a ticket broker hoping to make a buck or the dad who can't normally afford a ticket for himself and his kid but now we suck and tickets are dirt cheap on the street.

If administration has to choose between appeasing the fanbase and appeasing the boosters, the fans will get rejected every time. While we have purchasing power, we are not the ones signing Currie's check. Indirectly, yes. But nothing we do gets him fired. If the money guys like what he's doing he stays employed.

The larger the roll Sexton plays it lessons our opportunity at getting Gruden.... Sexton makes zero money if we hire Gruden.

He has been very influential in the previous hires

My belief in all of this has nothing to do with either poster. I immediately discount DP, though, because his attitude is one suggesting that this is all a pipe dream. That isn't true, so I must disbelieve any more of what he says. The Beav hasn't said anything that conflicts with other things I know to be true.
I don't believe he is a troll.

I just don't see any reputable program hiring Butch. ADs will look at the talent he had in '15 and '16 and how it was squandered, they'll look at how many assistant coaches who were decent enough elsewhere just didn't shine on a Butch Jones' staff, and they'll look at stories like Antone's. Who would want this guy? I hope someone does because it would save UTAD some money but I just cannot imagine who is that desperate.

was watching Clay Travis last night, talking about how Butch was so proud of the juice bar in the UT weight room, and he was like "dont juice bar me bro" almost crapped myself I laughed so hard. But it is true, and sad, dude isnt a national champion coach, he isnt about that life, which is fine, but its not what we need here.

Do you really think most of the money guys want Butch to stay? If you do fine, I DON'T. I know how some in the administration feel, but I don't think they are in the majority any more. I KNOW that there are many in high places that are ready for major changes. We will see, SOON!!!!!!!! GRUDEN TO THE HILL!
