Official Jon Gruden Thread XXIX

My thing is if it’s not Gruden negotiations that’s holding the firing of Butch Jones up then what is it?? I mean really what else could hold up firing a guy that’s done all this bogus crap, and is having an historically bad season? If there weren’t things going on behind the scenes he’d be gone already in my opinion!! Either that or John Currie is a completely inept waste of space, and Tennessee will never be relevant again. Why approve a 340 million dollar stadium renovation if you aren’t dedicated to winning football?? Fans are not going to show up if you are an inept waste of space!! So obviously something is going on, and I think the reports of offers to Gruden are legit! I believe that, and if you disagree fine! Don’t sit here and tell me I’m wrong though trolls when you don’t know jacksh** either!!

Me either. I would agree with Anderson. Ergen's money seems to be heavily tied to stock so he's not very liquid. Also agree about donations not telling the whole story. He's a unique character for sure...

The real question is does Anderson play golf at the Honors and drink scotch?

I do not post much at all but here is one thing that I can add. I do not have any confirmation on Gruden yet but I can confirm the power struggle that is being reported by Beaver and others. It is 100% that the Haslems are being overthrown. My son who is very heavily involved in Tn politics is my source. I can't tell his position. With this being true I would hope Gruden comes along with the deal.

The old guard hates to give up what they have had so long. The Pilot trouble has hurt the Haslams in more ways than people realize not only politically ( Why do you think Bill is not running for the Senate, they were setting him up the run for the highest office !!!! ) but in the also business wise as well.

The odds are so low right now because of the bets from Tennessee fans.

BetOnline was on serious saying they have received so many bets that Gruden is next coach.

That means they have lowered the odds to minimize their risk.

Maybe, but how do you know BetOnline was being sirius about it?

So show me where he did not say the line would move and by how much. Go ahead, I'll wait.

He did say the line would move, not disputing that. Could be the second coming of nostradamus? Or maybe a good guess? Or maybe he simply promised Gruden is a done deal and watched the bets being placed?

I believe it's possible Gruden comes to coach at UT but we need to hear something from someone other than anonymous posters claiming special knowledge. We've been burned by Grude expectations in the past. At this point if he doesn't come this time I will be mad at HIM...for not stopping all this speculation when he easily could have.

I'm afraid at this point in time, we'll get no information other than "Anonymous" insiders. To reveal themselves at this point in time would destroy any relationship (if it exists) with the university that they currently have. This info is here. Read it, and decide if you buy into it. Some do, some don't. It is what it is.

Thanks for your info! Can you tell us if Ergen is heavily involved as we have all thought?

The guy that started the argument said Beav had said nothing true or could be proven. Thank you for helping me with proof.

Expectation is a prison. You have no one to blame but yourself for your expectations.
