If Dobbs could have gotten that redshirt either of the first two years, what does this season look like iyo?

If that is the ONLY variable that's different...

We would 7-2 IMO.

Edit: I change my mind, 1st and goal at UF, Larry the Coordinator has a brain fart and has Tyler Byrd lob a jump ball to Dobbs in the endOne and it's picked, same result... 6-3.

He said last in the chat that a Power 5 coach has already reached out with interest. When ppl were guessing who today...he liked 2 posts that guessed Willie Taggart.

@Austin_Price Do you think he would be a serious candidate? I am guessing he's got a pretty hefty buyout after just 1 year at Oregon

This is a post from VQ about Price hinting at Taggart being the P5 coach reaching out to us. Price hasn’t answered yet.

If Taggart is the floor we're in an incredible spot, really.

I wonder why he'd want out of Oregon so soon? He may be annoyed by the whispers in the fanbase that they want Chip back. And he's always coached in the South and the Northwest may be a bit different.

It has taken awesome QB play to beat Bama in the last several years. Don't see UGA being able to do that.

The pupil will bow to its master in Atlanta I'm afraid.

Not going to be close. Fromm is averaging like 10 passes a game (hyperbole). No way that beats Bama.

I could see him wanting to be in the South. I’d be thrilled with him.

On Gruden...

I can promise you we have given him an outstanding package. Everything he could want and more. If he isn't here its because he doesn't want to coach. I believe that will end up being the reason...Although I doubt there is a public statement in that regard.

Changing the subject a bit, what do you all see as the 2 biggest things on each side of the ball the next coach has to straighten out for us to be competitive in 2018? I’m considering S&C to be a given. But other than that:

Offense

1. OL. Gotta get tougher and more disciplined in the trenches. Also need to get Mays back on board if possible. He’ll have a chance to make a Trey Smith like impact for us.

2. WR. We’ve had way too much trouble with guys being able to consistently be where they need to be, getting open, and making the catch. If I’m the new coach, I try to find out if I can get JJ to come back if possible (no idea if there’d be some sort of issue with the rest of the team regarding him ghosting or not).

Defense

1. DB. We’ve been surprisingly solid here this year, but we’ll be losing Wiggins, Moseley, Martin, and likely Gaulden going into 2018. Gotta make sure we can keep the young guys we have on campus around and bring in plenty of young guys (EEs, if possible) to compete here.

2. DL. Most of these guys should be coming back next year. Should. Gotta make sure you keep around as many as possible and more importantly, get them to play to their potential. We’ve seen flashes from DT and Phillips this year, but we’ve gotta get the interior guys to play more dominantly as well if we’re gonna give the young DBs a chance to get settled. Bringing along Butler and Johnson at DE needs to be a priority also. Hopefully they can get Kongbo to realize he’s a 3 technique DT as well.

Edit: also, gotta replace Daniels at Punter. Sneakily big hole in the team potentially.

If he knew TN/FL would be open this yr he probably never leaves USF. His preference is Southeast. He is a FL boy and his recruiting connections are stronger here. He would love to be here or FL. He would be having a great yr if Herbert doesn't get hurt. His buyout is minimal

Moving from Tampa to Eugene. Cultural, Climate, and Political shock.
