I heard that Butch thought he would have a chance to land at UNC or Arizona State if they make a change.

As a FOOTBALL COACH?

Butch obviously has a high fever, or has suffered a sharp blow to the head.

It's not that simple. Gruden could be under other contractual obligations with ESPN or his endorsements. He could also be in agreement with the University, that both parties deem it more suitable/ethical for Butch to finish out (or at least reach some predetermined future date). It could also be as simple as the terms of the MOU (or subsequent) and official contract terms are being negotiated.

It's clearly apparent that many here have never been at the table when high stakes deals and negotiations are being decided.

IMHO, we are right where we need to be. I kindly suggest that if you're into rollercoasters, you book a trip to Orlando and ride your little hearts out. This is not the place for more ups and downs than an AA convention.

Yea, why I think the deal is not completed.

A lot of smoke.

No fire yet.

Gruden couldn't sign until a X date in his ESPN contract.

That makes sense.

I'm not a big Gruden proponent. I think him & Tennessee have too much at risk for him being out of coaching for so long.

But I would be excited to see what Gruden could do. And would applaud the effort by Tennessee at the high risk/ massively high reward a MOTIVATED Gruden could do.

No Guts No Glory !! :)

Yeah, I agree. He is severely damaged goods at this point. And finishing the season is only going to make him look worse. Likely 0-8 in the conference with a ceiling of 2-6. Nobody in P5 is going to touch that.

He would have been better off to negotiate an earlier departure than get saddled with more losses. IMO.

Wow. It is almost as if no one is allowed to have a pause in their thinking because of multiple streams of info that generally contradict one another.

It is beyond me when people act like anyone that questions the process must be a paste-eating dullard.

I want to believe. I am just sick of limbo. That's where I'm at, but there is no need to presume I'm some idiot that doesn't know anything.
