What?

And Im not arguing, I haven't answered that either.

Wish I new man. Maybe nothing but a warning bell went off in my head after one of his posts and I haven't been able to jump back into his fan club.

It might not even affect us but I believe he's getting something out of this and using us to do it.

If you think this is linear and non complex then I would guess you are wrong. This is a non linear battlefield. Everything from this point on is a feint to disguise everyone's movement . IMO

Once again, Occam's Razor. At a certain point wild conspiracies that make no logical sense have to be discounted. Why would there be elaborate smoke screens and such? Why wouldn't someone whisper something positive in Kevin Mays ear if it was there to be whispered?

I believe a far more simple solution. A big offer was made to Gruden and he's said no, so a bigger one has been made.

I don't believe he's done. It makes absolutely no sense for it to be done and the situation for it to be as it currently is with both a fan base and the recruiting class burning to the ground.

Think about it for a minute, guys and gals.

At the end of last year, Butch was allegedly looking to get out of Knoxville. After the ****ty season he had this year, now he's "begging for more"? Doesn't add up to me. Sounds like another smokescreen.

Grude On!

I agree that only one of those rumors can be true... But I have no reason to believe one more than the other.

I honestly think Butch would do best in an administration position rather than coaching. He obviously can do some things well, just not developing players or in game coaching.

Guys....guys...!!! This is Election Day in America! Far, far too much air time has been given to Beaver.

Now, in the air of "fairness," equal time for the challenger...

I'm a millennial and I can't stand my generation for the most part, but I must say it's not a good look for other generations to bash us nonstop. I think every generation bears some responsibility.

every time I hear someone say the world snowflake accompanied with a condescending tone tells me everything I need to know about the character of that individual.

Why do you think Hubbs would put out a statement like that? (Butch calling around to boosters for support) that just looks ridiculous on the university. If this is misdirection it's beginning to appear just outlandish at this point.

It devalues Butch even further without insulting him...hes begging...no one likes a beggar.

Or maybe someone has, and this is a feint to make AD speed up his original plan to achieve the desired outcome of the other parties?

Reading through 7 pages of pearl-clutching is getting on my nerves.

Legendary: you first brought the comment as to Hubbs saying Butch is trying to save his job. Not that I don't trust you man, but until I see a quote of Hubbs' actual words, I'm not giving that weight.

But even assuming I did, it doesn't really matter in my book. Boro and DTO are being quietly confident, and they surely have reason to be both quiet and confident.

If that's not good enough for you, I'll go ahead and say again: I am 99% certain Jon Gruden will be the head coach at Tennessee before 2017 is over. The 1% is in case of a Gruden heart attack or a meteor strike on Knoxville.

Gruden is coming.

"But Ainge says..."

Irrelevant.

"But Cade Mays decommitted..."

Irrelevant.

"But Hubbs says Butch is making calls..."

Irrelevant.

"But Butch is still coaching..."

IRRELEVANT.

All this other stuff is noise, some planned, some not, but all of it beside the point: Gruden is coming. Wrap your heads around it and relax. Enjoy thinking about the good times that are right around the bend. Or take your meds.

Take it for what you will. I'm on record.

So what are your thought on Frost? :hi:

I think we have the mid day meltdown because most of the people posting with sheer emotion are snowflake millennals who expect everything to be given to them when they want it because their entitled to it. Then, the older generations who’ve built successful businesses or retired from successful careers have to come in and explain that contrary to what you FEEL, sometimes you have to work for things, exude patience from time to time and roll with the cards you’re delt. It’s a freakin’ midday millennial meltdown. Go watch a documentary on WWII or something. Learn to deal with life.

To our defense, we've haven't really ever witnessed UT being great. I was 6 years old when UT won a championship and wasn't even a fan of football at the time. I didn't start following UT football until the last years of Fulmer. Being a millennial we are used to letdown, after letdown when it comes to this administration hiring anyone that we don't have to Google because it's what we are accustomed too. You older folks got to see some of the best years in the history of our program and got to witness it first-hand. You grew up with UT being great. We grew up with UT being mediocre.

To the bold part...I have been patient, I've honestly didn't stop supporting Butch until after the UGA game. I gave him chance after chance. Hell, I defended him after the Florida game, a game that he should have won. I was patient for 5 years. Us millennials, just like other generations on here are hanging on to every word and any type of hope that we can when it comes to Gruden coming. We want to see Tennessee great just like the other generations got to witness.

Y'all gonna be sorry you doubted the beaver bruh

I'll take that chance.

Seriously though, I've given up trying to figure him out. He makes too much sense and has gone to too much trouble, just to pull off a troll job of this nature.

I'm done. As far as Im concerned, he knows something.

Keep in mind he was reportedly turned down by schools that he reached out to.

He may feel staying at UT is his best chance at coaching in the P5 next year.

I believe you're on the right track. This mutual parting of the ways it's not working out so well for him and he can't find another job. Once your out I would say it gets harder and harder to find another one. Especially one that's going to let him live a lifestyle like he has now. No one in their right mind is going to pay him a lot of money to coach their school.

SIAP

Nothing is a done deal. However, I do know that all of the principles that were fractured in the AD search are currently working together on Gruden. That is a fact. Doesn't mean that he's going to be the next HC but the odds are going up every day. Much higher probability this time around than last. I'll still believe it when I see it but to deny that there isn't a huge concerted effort to bring him here is either agenda driven or ignorant of what is going on.

Folks.....Relax

It's in plain sight right in front of us and we need to focus on the obvious.

Repeat after me --- $340 Million !

This is 2 + 2 = 4 ..... NO way BJ is coming back in 2018 and NO way that kind of money is going to be spent and then some average back-bencher scrub coach is hired. THINK !

Now ...Get your Gruden on and Believe !!!
