But, I thought this was the football talk forum. We had a 5 star in state recruit decommit today. I know it sounds crazy, but it is my opinion that action from the AD might have prevented this from happening! But I guess I can't say that or I'm whining, or I've blown a gasket, or I'm crazy, or unreasonable, or whatever else has been said this morning. Lot of people just want to believe that nothing else could be done. But I don't believe that. I think Currie is doing a terrible job right now by saying and doing nothing. That's jmo, but it must be crazy to think that!

Was just talking with someone at work who’s brother is at UT and has friends on the football team. Nothing earth shattering but she said she’s heard the locker room culture right now is abysmal and the team is completely divided, with fights happening regularly. It was interesting that she said it deteriorated during this season and that this is the first time it has been like this under Butch. She said it’s miserablefor the players now.

I wonder how much of that plays into recruits minds if they are hearing whispers of it.

The recruiting can't be helped until a new hire is made. If you can't understand that, none of us can help you.

You got a lot tied into that Larry Scott example. :) He went 4-2! He beat a decent Duke team due to a bad call...epic bad call...then another decent Pitt team. The other two wins were against a 3 win Georgia Tech squad and 4 win Virginia. That he looked decent in comparison to freakin Al Golden isn’t a ringing endorsement for that route and that season’s recruiting class was Richt’s worst...so it didn’t save RECRUITING. That’s how we stole Byrd. And that you actually believe you’re the reasonable one and EVERYONE ELSE is overreacting is pretty telling. :hmm:

Butch had 2 chances to improve his offense you don't get 3 shots. He gone don't listen to clown show tony that wants more site clicks for ad mkney

I get your disposition but you're in a reactionary mode. To satisfy you might actually torpedo our best opportunity yet no one seems to be able to help you understand that. I would say almost everyone here and elsewhere in VolNation are just as anxious as you but many understand that there's not much we can do except try to be patient as long as we can. I'm skeptical that we'll pull off the Elvis hire but I can hope and I have no choice but to await the announcements which will come at a more appropriate time. In fact the less I KNOW, the longer I can hope. :)

You mention blind faith - what is your alternative? What specifically do you want the AD to do to enlighten your faith? Is that even possible if you have any inkling of an idea about how a process like this is conducted? I don't see a lot of posters here exhibiting blind faith - well, except for those who are backing Mike Bobo. :)

Right there with you. It's been stated it works better for Butch to let him finish. I can't see it. He damages himself with each day he remains as coach imo.

You know Machine, I'm not in a monologue here. There are people responding to my posts to which I am replying. I know that sounds crazy, but this is a forum where people are challenging me on my opinion and I am responding. So, you know, things might get said multiple times over several weeks of dialogue about the same subject which is the state of our program right now and inaction from the AD. Crazy, I know.

He went 12-2 at CMU. Better than Kelly. He'll get another job. Albeit a huge downgrade.

Guys think for two seconds. They just announced a $340 million dollar renovation that requires them to raise a ton of it. There’s no scenario where Butch is returning. They know they would never raise it with him.

The fact that Basilio is peddling this idea that he may be back shows you two things:
1. He is desperate for clicks
2. He isn’t someone who has good info at this point

The fact that you used the Florida example, which is one game, is pretty telling as well. And I never said anyone else was overreacting, but, you know, narrative and all.

Bass, I may have piled on a bit, but I am saying that voicing your opinion repeatedly will put you in the same class of poster as Bruin and CrunchyLebVol, which just makes everything harder.

Ultimately, it's a free place to say whatever you want. Sorry if I contributed to the insanity. :hi:
