It's not really anything different than what he has said the whole time this round...TN wants him and doing everything possible but he doesn't trust Gruden will take it at end of day. If he trusted gruden he would have more than 5% confidence imo

It will sound something like this but it will come from Larry.

I'm going the opposite. The more people say it could happen the more I'm in the "see it to believe it" camp. I guess it's my BVS

Nah that’s pretty reasonable. The only thing different from 2012 right now is the boosters seeming to be aligned and the Hubbs stuff about it being possible

Is this what you had in your back yard?

That's actually my house. My subscription package is $5,392 per month. The upfront hardware cost was rather significant....just short of $750,000.

We've got 3 more games to endure before we know what will happen. Ugh....

I'm gonna enjoy watching Warrior and Gaulden do their thing. We may not see Gaulden next year so try to enjoy it. Plus we may see a receiver actually catch a TD pass.

Lol. If LWS says boosters are aligned working towards a big hire, then none of them are going to listen to a year 6 pitch.

Butch already made his year 6 pitch on the field. It has been found wanting.

Yeah, and what great OC is going to come with a lame duck? It's over.

Yep - just focus on the individual players. I will be interested to see the improvement under the new HC for the ones that do come back. I have a feeling we will be both happy and sad at what could have been with better coaching.

W & G are special.

This is me. I was a big believer early on and probably more positive than most. But the closer it feels like we get according to insiders, the more skeptical I've gotten for whatever reason.

Show me the man at the podium. Otherwise I'm assuming it probably won't happen.

I'm drooling at the possibilities if we get there tho.

See on the bright side you'll know when we hire Gruden before anyone else. That thing can see into the future.

It was so much easier to do this in 2012. CP was so fun to watch.

I don't want to derail the thread, but hey, you guys are giffing and apping to your heart's content, so let me ask an off-topic question.

I saw the brief discussions regarding streaming, etc., and it caught my interest as I'm on the verge of disconnecting. I have a $180 per month DirecTV bill and the only things I consistently watch are sporting events. Outside of the live sporting events, my wife and I watch Netflix or Amazon Prime almost 95% of the time...which is another ongoing expense.

As a result, I'm about to cut the cord and go to an old-style antenna for local stations/network sports and also subscribing to one of the streaming services (Hulu, etc.) for networks such as ESPN, FSN, etc.

Has anyone else made such a move? I posted a similar message/question on Facebook but all the responses were requests from my friends to let them know how it turned out...haha!

I'm curious if any of you have feedback as I know many of us have the same viewing habits, i.e., live sports.

Yes. I signed up for sling and got a free amazon fire box and then tried out directtvnow and got a free Apple TV. They both have packages and add ons for sports. My sling was $20 and directv is $35. We have an antenna too.

.Somebody asked him what his thoughts were about Chip Kelly to Florida. Finebaum responded with he didn't think that's where Kelly's thought process was at. He said he sees Kelly every Sunday morning but would never ask him directly what his plans were, but did say in his opinion there was only one school in the SEC that he thought Kelly would consider coaching at. Laura Rutledge asked Tennessee and Finebaum said yes, if not somewhere out on the west coast.

They then went on to address Jon Gruden possibilities to Tennessee. Both he and Rutledge agreed that at one time it seemed laughable, but they were warming up to the thought a bit more given a little more knowledge of the situation. I thought it interesting that Finebaum went on to say that he thought if Gruden did coach again that it would be at the college level. Just thought he was basically too big of a rock star for an NFL job where most coaches take a back seat with the fans and how that's not the case in college. Both agreed he would kill it recruiting as a closer if he hired the right staff to do the majority of the leg work. Now I paraphrased most of this on memory, but I think it's pretty accurate. Anyway...just thought I'd share.

From TOS about Finebaum.

I just have problems believing it’s mutual. If a potential coach wants to be here and we want them then I don’t really see a way they can’t figure it out. I would say if anything it’s more 10% Gruden and 90% us.

I don't know how many times I've said that I was at 10% on Gruden and that it was up to us to make hiim say yes. We're holding 90% of the cards. I've seen some reports from "insiders" which suggest that maybe we have surrendered some of those cards and maybe now we're at 50/50. I try to guage the quality of insider reports credibility-wise but it's all subjective and hearsay so I haven't really shared the ups and downs to the extent a few others have.

I remember the last time around when word leaked out about how much control Gruden wanted there were a lot of people on here who sided with the school. I didn't because I could empathize with not wanting to be in a position where someone relatively unqualified is going to be a boss that is continually meddling in you trying to get your job done.

You and I seem to agree that Gruden has at least some interest in the job. It is up to our side, depending on how bad we want him, to surrender some or a lot of our power over the football program to him because that, imo, is the only way we're going to increase his interest level. Money and control are power. How much do we have to give up and are we willing to do that? I expect in order to get him to yes the answers are extreme and we'll see. jmo.

I have no doubt that we can MAKE him say yes. What I'm unsure of is whether or not we really want to do that. It is incredibly difficult to imagine the powers that be being eager to see their positions diminished without some serious heartburn. jmo.

Basilio has the dumb. Our offense was pretty electric with the right players and OC.

Then Larry the Coordinator took the stage. And of course we didn't develop anyone behind Dobbs.

Hulu live. I love it.
