I have been following this board for the last month and did in 2012 as well. No insider, don't know anyone on the hill but I have spent the last three hours on a flight reading thru the thread and this is the best entertainment. i'd say if the MOU has been signed like others here have said (i don't know anything) you would think that would have already been done before hand. IMO

This legion of miserables would turn on reincarnated General Neyland if he didn't reach Atlanta by season 2. That's why I have no desire for Manning to ever be in any sort of way a coach here.

I just don't understand how people can still defend Butch at this point. I WISH I could be that optimistic about anything.

I don’t know about the MOU, but if the Ergan part is true that he wanted Gruden, seems to me he would have had Gruden agree before he started working a deal to get him here.

Apologies,thought it was implied. I think we gave Butch a fair shake. But after 5 years the disappointment is overwhelming. I think any fan base will turn. Look at Michigan and Harbaugh after his expectations vs reality. It just is what it is.

I think Gruden would get his fair share of time, if not more than most.

Maybe. Still seems off that they are discussing this as a family now, if the backstory on how he got here is true.

I’m really curious on how this is announced. If Gruden really does want Butch to finish here til the end of the season, a clean break, then I don’t expect a flashy announcement on the heels of Butch’s firing, if that makes sense. But Beav said ESPN would do it, so I don’t know.

I think they feel UT won't make a bowl game and Jones will be fired and Gruden announced shortly after in order to help with early signing. This allows him to tie up loose ends on his part with ESPN and endorsements. Who knows it's late and i'm just here for the Grumors
