If I remember correctly the Hellcat was a WW2 fighter aircraft used to replace the bearcat. It was a Navy Workhorse during the war.

Yea, the Hellcat was definitely a beast. Accounted for half of all Navy/Marine kills in the Pacific theater and a 19 to 1 kill ratio....

I think you are correct. The Hellcat replaced the Wildcat, not the bearcat, I believe. That's a little before my time since I was a Vietnam era pilot.

Well, no....it was just a normal looking tackle until he tapped his helmet and ran off the field holding his shoulder.

My cringe happened when I saw his face after he realized he wasn't going back in. He's worked so hard for that opportunity, and only got to enjoy it for a half.
