You might be stepping on some toes.

That’s fine. I don’t know who Mike Shell is.

Don’t know his company
Don’t know his relationships
Don’t know nothing

So when I ask “why should I care” and people tell me his business. I don’t care about that. I care about his connection to the program and/or Gruden. Period.

Thanks to the poster that said he is a successful booster. But still, I don’t know much about him.

To me, seems like a successful businessman who uses Twitter and likes the Vols.

He’ll land others. Saban does Belk’s.

Ask Peyton for Papa John time and insurance promos! Good grief those would be outstanding with Peyton and Grude!

:loco:

Soon!

Ok, I've had a lot of work today and it took me most of the day to try to catch up to the thread. Though I think most are starting to back away from the ledge that DeerPark put them on, I want to help.

Know someone in AD's office that would be a chip and a putt from Currie. Anyone giving insider info from the AD's office should be taken with a grain of salt. You know what I got from the AD's office? Nothing, nada. Unless someone comes on here and says "Hello, I am John Currie's cell phone", don't over-listen. Those who are closest don't know, or are being really good about not talking. Pure Fact.

If DeerPark used to be a vendor (adidas rep), his old connections will only have office banter and speculation. He may have been valid in the past, but this is a new AD and he has a new circle. Old lines of info have been cut off for the most part.

This is true the folks in the AD just are not talking that much. Also DeerPark is probably not that tied in anymore. I have thought he may have been on the equipment management staff as an undergrad on the baseball side mostly. Who knows...

I agree with his post. Don't think much of the information that people have on here has come from the AD side of things. Currie seems to be tight lipped and ensures those closest to him are too. I think most of the information on this board is coming from the booster side of things.

Don't know anything about DeerPark or his (possible) connection to Adidas. But if that was the connection, it makes sense to me.

I saw earlier DeerPark replied that he was not in A.D., that is just what people had assumed... Well, DeerPark, I thought it was odd you let that assumption go on for so long!! I mean that had been assumed for years or at least seemed that long.

I hate to admit I've never been, I had always planned to go with Dad, but he passed away before we ever made it. I'm so glad he got to go without me. I was invited by a good friend last year, but had too much going and couldn't get away and with a daughter playing hs softball the next 4 years that won't change soon. I did take my son to St Louis twice last year and the Cards lost both games. LOL. Sounds like a lot of fun, maybe we can make it SOON.

My family is only 30min. from StL and my sister lives there. Worse case maybe we just meet up at Schlafly for a beer then a game.

Could it be that Mike Shell was in the same meeting with AtlantaVol? So he may have seen FIRST HAND the whole power shift go down. Just a thought. 😉🔜

I don't understand this obsession with Jon Gruden. He hasn't coached in 10 years. & if he was that great of a coach why didn't some NFL team get him when he got turned loose from his prior NFL employer. And he has said he doesn't want to coach college football, to many rules.

I hadn't heard this before.
