Great Day At The Ballgame

Bandwagon fans?...True vol fans?...Wow...My family probably donates more to UT each year than you make in 5 years and have for the past 45 years..You come on here acting all high and mighty like you are something special and try and throw shade at people because they are fed up with the current situation...The reason you were able to go to that game most likely was because you got cheap tickets because some of the people who have been paying big money for season tickets all these years didn't feel like going and seeing a horrible product so you were able to score some tickets...Glad you had a good time there chief and you were wrong about the obnoxious visitors being there, YOU WERE THERE!
Don’t buy the tickets, don’t donate. No one is forcing you or me. Maybe you should invest in The University of Miami. I realize that my donation is nothing in the grand scheme and you would probably be happier if you understood the same is true for yours. Unless you’re Bill Haslam, in which case, my apologies Mr. Has lam

P.S. UT thanks your Momma and Daddy for their donation.

Have to agree. It was much better having a family environment and not all of the drunk slobbering people cussing in the stands. Wish every game could be like that.

I think may be a prelude of whats in our future....where going to a football game is much more about having a nice relaxing time, seeing friends, enjoying good food and drink and not about winning...

The Tennessee football program we once knew is in transition...we are now a middle of the road program...its no longer about wins and loses....think KY, Purdue, Duke football....its about friends and family...

So relax...and enjoy...

Exactly and will never give them up. Go Vols!

Never a big word...I had football season tickets 33 years...I tired of going, when I felt my friends weren't appreciate when I gave them to them I started giving them to those I thought would most enjoy them...

Which is why we need to can Jones and at least try.
"I think we all know what is going on here." Butch is gone that is for sure, everybody knows it. But these loonies who want him gone yesterday or they will throw a tantrum like a two-year old who doesn't get candy( or Gruden) are irritating. Butch at least deserves to finish the season and there is no harm in letting him.
1) We won't be behind in the search for his replacement, its already well under way.
2) Don't worry about recruits, anyone signing early made up their minds long ago and anyone in play won't sign until they see who the new coach is.

You just got bent out of shape because someone talked about your daddy and then you did the exact same thing.

Clearly you are the greatest UT fan of all-time now

If that is the destination of this program...what's the point? I'm all for a good, relaxing time and a great tailgate but if the actual sport around which the tailgates and get-togethers are organized is merely an afterthought, why not just throw a block party or go to the tailgate and then leave? If it's not about watching good football and seeing the Vols win football games, why would one cross the thresholds of the stadium gates?

Yesterday was really nice. Friends, family, tailgate, an we won. Only the true Vol fans. Nice not have to put up with all the brainless bandwagon wannabes and no obnoxious visitors. Great day.

Great vibe on tv. No boo birds. People smiling and enjoying life. Nobody kicking the dog and starting fights. I don't know who the dad dancing with his daughter was on TV but gets the dad of the year award. Nice to be able to bring the kids in for a game and enjoy family and teach some life lessons about good sportsmanship. Well done vols.

Let me break this down. A guy goes to a UT game. Has a good time with his family. Nice night for football. Vols win. Decides it's a positive thing, and is looking for a silver lining. Only mistake he makes is he calls out some folks that aren't quite on the same wavelength and gets trashed. hmm..
Glad OP had a good time. Life is short. Never lose sight that it's a bunch of 18-23 yr olds out there kicking around a leather ball. Why lose your manhood over a crappy season? I'm happy OP had a good day.

OP got trashed because OP insinuated, more or less, that he was a real fan and anyone who isn't willing to dump money and time into an awful product is not. OP got trashed because he then proceeded to tell those of us who are not happy, to not come back. OP got trashed because OP's OP was trash. This wasn't about him having a good time, it was a holier than thou, "look at how much better of a fan I am than you" post.

We have not won a meaningful game this season. The two meaningful wins that we had last year (UF and GA) were negated by losing to South Carolina off a bye and Vanderbilt to close the season. We lost to a bad Florida team this year, and then were beaten 86-7 by Georgia and Alabama combined this year. Oh, and we also lost to South Carolina and KENTUCKY! When you are embarrassed by your rivals, and then beaten by your little brother programs, something needs to change. Our players are sloppy and undisciplined, and every week we get a new embarrassment coming out of the locker room (fights, tweets, transfers, suspensions, playing concussed players, etc.) or delivered to us from the podium by your fearless leader Butch Jones. Beating Georgia Tech in a flukey comeback, Indiana State, a winless UMASS, and Southern Miss is not good enough at any major program. At this point, it is more likely that we lose 8 games for the first time in program history, than that we make it to a bowl game.

I'm glad that the people that attended the game had a good time, but I will say that the people that skipped the game, in my anecdotal experience, are not fans that only come to a game once in a blue moon. This is the first game in my life that I have skipped while having a ticket, without having some other adverse circumstances that forced me to be absent. Hopefully better times are on the horizon, but I'm not going to do backflips over beating one of our purchased victories in November to get to 4 wins.

Don't renew them, nobody makes you buy them do they? There will be plenty of us to fill in for your absence. Go Vols!

Now, that's the spirit!! How the team is doing, or how the AD cares about the fans, is a distant second-it's about having fun going to the game, and not about winning, for gosh sakes. Sure enough, there will be plenty of others that feel the same way, and will buy those tickets!!!

Yet you still came in here to faux-shame others. Interesting.

Truth is those who took offense to my comments indite themselves and their responses show that they are really miserable. My point is if being a UT fan is that terrible why do it? If it is because they like being negative, want to look for offense where ever possible, and are offended when others are happy, that may be mental illness.
Me thinketh thou protesteth too much.

Well seeing as how my mother and father have been dead for 25 and 23 years I don't think a thank you is necessary...Invest in Miami huh?...No ties at all to Miami...You kinda sound desperate for attention so I am giving you the benefit of the doubt here..We donate because we care..It's not all about football, It's giving that kid who would never get to go to college a chance to do something better with his or her life..Donating just gives us the privilege to buy season tickets..It's called giving back...Some people can't and that's fine but you don't see me on here calling people bandwagoners and other names because I scored a couple of tickets to a game and there weren't any a**holes there to ruin it for me.

That is admirable and I do like wise for many of the same reasons. And like wise you are guilty of the things you accuse me of. You suggested that I "scored a couple tickets" for some poor season ticket holder who couldn't bear to watch. Well my Momma and Daddy have been gone for a while too and I been paying my own way and them some for a while now.
As far as the game, When sun is warm and the fruit is on there's a lot of flies. Bugs are gone in the winter time but the fruit comes from a jar. I wll put up with the flies in the summer time and enjoy me some blueberry pie, but I will also enjoy the rare warm sunshine on a winter day.
