He’s literally 15-16 points better than the program’s all time win %.

He’s literally made miracles out of thin air there.

He is "literally" in the bottom half of his division 8 out of 9 times. He did not "literally" make miracles out of thin air. He is a good coach. He is not a great coach. He will continue to perform well enough to not get fired. Maybe some big name will take a chance on him, but I sure hope it's not UT. Because he is good. He is not great.

If I wanted a coach who can barely beat UMASS, I would rather save the money and keep Butch.

Exactly! The state of Mississippi produces more D1 talent per capita than Tennessee so why can't he get any of those guys to stay home?

Because within a 4 hour radius, you have Bama, Auburn, LSU, and Ole Miss (as of late for $$$$).

Name one coach that could outrecruit those schools while coaching at Miss State. There’s no incentive for these kids to stay instate when Auburn or Bama or LSU are a couple hours away.

People are dumb. It’s like everyone wants to look at everything from a 40,000 feet view.

We need a coach that can turn around a dumpster fire (like Mississippi State) and, hate to say it, Tennessee is a dumpster fire right now.

Also, Mississippi State wasn't even remotely relevant before he got there. Mississippi was ranked #1 for several weeks in 2015. He's also proven to develop NFL caliber quarterbacks.

To me, he's not even in the same league as Butch.

Edit: Oh, and by the way, the SEC West is a much MUCH tougher conference than the East.

Mullen upsetting Saban and company would be monumental compared to what Butch did. While Butch ended an 11 year streak, he finally won a game vs a sh!tty Florida program and after blowing 3 wins vs them in the 3 years prior.
