He’s recruited above the all time average for Miss State. He’s almost 16 points higher in win % over Miss State’s all time record.

You are clearly trolling if you think coaches win and recruit big at Miss State.

I have said that he is an above-average coach. He's just not great. He's good enough to not get fired at Mississippi State.

It's just not possible. There are a number of HS teams with a more attractive campus and better facilities. They literally need cowbells to produce SEC level noise.

Players came out flat in 1st half (rat poison). Too many costly mistakes by MSU. Pick 6 and busted coverage gave UMess two cheap TDs. UMass hasn't won games, but they've usually put up a good fight.

Mullen might kill it here.

However I don't want a coach simply because he was decent at and improved a bad school.

I agree MSU is way better than UMass.

This was not like when Tennessee played them....sure the game went kind of like it; however UMass is now a bit better, MSU is better than Tennessee, and that game for Tennessee was just the start of what was coming.

Maybe we should hire the UMass coach. He plays SEC teams closer than Butch does. With a little more talent he would win the games. 😂

If they had Berman on the sideline this week they certainly had more talent over there than Tennessee does.

I've lived in Columbus Ms since the early 80's and the job Jackie Sherrill did to get that program started with a booster club and funds to where that program is today is remarkable compared to where it was pre Sherrill.So I can tell you just how silly your comments are.

The town of Starkville isn't much to look at but the State campus is great and their facilities are solid.It's not elite like a Bama,UGA,UF,UT but they are pretty good.

Let this sink it over the last 14 or so years State has a better record than we do and if State was in the East under Mullen they would have 3 East titles right now.That's something we've only won 5 times and haven't since 07.Hell our last SEC title was won against State all the way back in 1998!!

He has a 32-37 SEC record playing in the best divison in college football.That's not "terrible".State has had 3 of their last 4 recruiting classes ranked in the top 25 again that's not "poor".

We can argue over a word. Maybe not "terrible" but definitely not good. As for the recruiting, that's poor. You have to recruit better to compete in the SEC. His best years are due to Dak. He's a good coach. He's just not great.

He can't even pull top 25 consistently. What's this talk about top 10?

I just can't get excited about a coach that can't stay in the top half of his division. Good coaches make teams get better. His team peaked years ago with Dak.

You literally know nothing about football if you think Miss State should be expected to compete for natties and top ten classes.
