If he signed the MOU, they would now be making plans for timing and ideally fire/hire same day. With MNF in GB this week, if Gruden has signed on with Vols even if just a MOU, he likely wants to give his goodbyes to the entire production team after spending so many years with them. Rock an orange tie too?

I was preaching patience thinking the timeline might be later in Nov for the announcement as they sort out his endorsements, MNF schedule, staff (who are still coaching 4 more games if they are college guys), etc. But I would hope if he’s ready to roll they move as fast as they can; let Dilfer take his spot on MNF, let him start recruiting even if his staff replacements are 3-4 weeks away, and get Butch out of here as fast as possible. How feasible that quick action is remains tbd

Vol fans are absolutely the most important stakeholder for UT. That fact was forgotten by inept administration and powerful egos.

VolNation didn’t have a voice or a seat at the table in 2012, but they do in 2017. Dramatic change was needed at the top of UT.
