Wait, so you think there's like a weird possible blackmail situation going on or something? Like our AD is worried that if we fire Butch he may leak details that implicate others or something? I don't understand why keeping him helps any of this (and I know you're just the messenger here, just thinking out loud).

So we all agree that a BOT dinner took place, right? That's because we know it did. I never commented about what may or may not have been discussed. There was not, however, a separate meeting.

Why not air out the dirty laundry now? It was likely to come out after Butch was gone, why not do it now so he gets to smell it and not have it taint Gruden?

I wish I knew for sure, but my theory is that Butch isn’t the only one with unclean hands. What comes out is going to be negative press for more than just him. They need him to play ball and minimize the public damage.

Not trying to pile on here, but you explicitly said there was no meeting, but yet you said you aren't calling Atlanta a liar. I know things move fast around here, so here is his quote again from yesterday.

"I was then informed early today of a meeting that will take place that I am supposed to attend (can't give timeline out) that will be about a very large donation opportunity for some folks in attendance. Now I can't imagine in my right mind that they would approach anyone about a meeting like that unless there was something extremely positive was going to happen."

That BOT dinner was on the schedule for a while. That is not a meeting where somebody gets invited at the last minute. Those are planned well in advance. To me, this speaks of another meeting with probably mostly boosters in attendance. Yes, BOT members probably are boosters, but not to the $$$ level that some are. If he was talking about a BOT dinner that everybody knew about, why the secrecy?
