Isn't Lovie Smith STILL in the air circling Knoxville?

Yes, unfortunately the school has been paying to keep it refueled in air all this time so we have limited funds for Gruden. Hence negotiating the buyout down for Jones.

Here is the truth folks. Several people in here know it and just aren’t saying it. I know several people that post from time to time and have great sources but don’t post what they know. Is a quiet confidence.

Gruden has let the right people know, that he would like to coach at UT if the circumstances were good.

Very straight forward and to the point.... Thanks :hi:

So some of the pieces of the puzzle are beginning to make more sense now

Sounds like Butch has a lot dirty laundry and things are going to continue to come out that will more or less force him to resign which will save buyout money and Currie knows this.

Smart. It’s a shame the current players have to ride the butch train a little longer than they should tho

May save a lot of money but sure makes the university look bad.

No he’s not. He’s going to end up looking like a schmuck.

The irreparable damage CURRIE is doing to the brand right now is much more than Butch’s buyout would be.

If this is true, and Currie won’t pull the trigger on firing and a buyout to get this **** show over with, then this is THE worst run organization I can say I’ve seen. And that’s saying a lot.

One of the all time great posts right here folks.

I was told by someone who worked for Currie he doesn't like firing coaches mid season.

UNLESS

Something significant happens to change the paradigm like serious allegations of wrongdoing.
And it looks like the heat is being turned up, in increments. Dirty laundry being revealed, piece by piece, till folks get inline.

I just want the bleeding to stop soon, w/ Butch gone and a change in the booster power structure...Soon

Seems it would also be a potential legal problem. If they have that much dirty laundry and Butch does something to cause a lawsuit (maybe already did - Kendrick), the university may have some liability since they knew about past indiscretions and didn't take action to prevent future ones.

Majors was at Pitt and UT approached him before Battle was fired

Battle heard the footsteps of Majors the whole time he was here ... lots of rumors about Majors (just like there are now with Gruden) only a lot more information available now

What more significant actions have to take place to make the move? They are piling up faster than a blizzard in Buffalo.

Fact is, things are NOT good. If this is Currie’s “plan” now, to force a resignation just to save $5M+ on a buyout, then JG should definitely go somewhere else. No one should work under that AD of that’s now his idea of a good “plan”.

Pathetic.

My only thought is Currie wants to lower the buyout as much as possible to take as little from the donors and keep some of the power for himself. If he is completely reliant on donors on this he has to answer to them when they come calling.

IDK just thinking out loud
