Good point as to why he's still here IMO.

He has a contract, it has a buyout for if he is fired.

He wants his money.

He resigns (or quits) = no buyout unless its arranged at a lower amount that satisfies UT.

The "racket" around the program right now is giving leverage to UT to get the buyout # to something they think is more fair for them considering. Or continue to allow Jones to flap in the wind for another month while his marketability drops by the hour.

Game of chicken IMO.

Either Jones walks away with no buyout, or lowers the buyout with "cause" as the leverage.

If it were strictly on his win loss record, this might be right. But there are obviously deeper problems than win/loss that will ultimately get Butch fired.

We've been told repeatedly that Butch has the support of most of the team, they're playing hard for him, he's their best chance to make a bowl, etc. Confusing or crazy, take your pick...

Those KState guys I talked to this summer were apparently spot on with regards to Currie's personality.

Still concerned he's not the right AD for us.
