Freak,

I propose we make an entire thread devoted solely to people [complaining] about all of the insiders.

It would stream line the rest of the threads and leave the b'ing and moaning solely to Bruin and Catbone.

...and Bass.

See this changes perception..I heard and believed the story that Helm was just a big wuss that didn't getting yelled and cussed at on the practice field..everybody that's ever played sports has been coached like that to varying degrees..

But this is different. This is textbook mental abuse. My question is this..why are you guys that knew the real story all this time just telling it in detail? It's an anonymous message board, what did any of you have to lose from telling the truth?

I'm no insider and didn't hear about it when it happened. I made friends with someone in the program during an athletic event when I worked with another school and we began talking about Butch and whether he was the right guy for Tennessee. (This was the summer before the 2016 season.) He told me the Helm story and some others.

To your larger point, I don't think this stuff gets out when you're running a winning program. Just like calling a guy who went to the police when he heard about a rape a "traitor" and advocating that the other players "teach him a lesson."

Butch irl

giphy.gif

Sadly Russell Meade from Hendersonville, TN acted a lot like this character.

Like I said, more to come, as for details to what I personally saw or heard, I’m sorry but I’d never divulge

And the original two posts of mine a page back were just things I believe to happen

No guarantee. But again, it really looks like this is the way it’s shaping up

I think Currie knew some of this stuff, and is leaking it to put pressure on Butch to resign with no buyout, or be fired with cause.

Helm was a homeschooled kid from a very orthodox Christian household. Very soft spoken guy. Never cussed or made any noise. A little bit of a pushover in practice. Maybe not a fit in SEC football.

Anyway, to "toughen him up", Butch called him up in the front of a team meeting and made him say "I'm a huge f***ing puss*".

I would have been the first parent to kick his azz.

My gosh Mike Hamilton is so freaking tone deaf. Someone who is close to that guy is failing him by not explaining to him that he sucks at the twitter.

This happened per VFL friends.

Whoa!

I had heard the traitor stuff.

I had not heard "teach him a lesson"

Me too. I wish the players would all boycott and say either they play tomorrow night with no Butch, or Butch runs through the T alone.

We've been told repeatedly that Butch has the support of most of the team, they're playing hard for him, he's their best chance to make a bowl, etc. Confusing or crazy, take your pick...

How in the world are they hanging on to the 2018 commitments???

No, he should resign today and leave before he makes things any worse.

Good point as to why he's still here IMO.

He has a contract, it has a buyout for if he is fired.

He wants his money.

He resigns (or quits) = no buyout unless its arranged at a lower amount that satisfies UT.

The "racket" around the program right now is giving leverage to UT to get the buyout # to something they think is more fair for them considering. Or continue to allow Jones to flap in the wind for another month while his marketability drops by the hour.

Game of chicken IMO.

Certainly not helping his marketability for his next job.
