It never ceases to make me chuckle to see so many people clutching their collective pearls when they go a few hours without having someone post what they want to hear. It's as if this whole thing is entirely dependent on what three anonymous internet posters tell you, and if they don't say something, then ITS NOT HAPPENINGOMGOMGOMG.

😂

Ok, here’s my thing. If we didn’t think we had a chance with a really big hire why wait around and let Florida land a guy like Scott Frost? A really solid up and coming coach who is highly sought after. I believe we have a pretty good idea of who our 2-3 coaching candidates are, and we feel pretty good about landing them. Or else I think this entire situation would just absolutely blow up in our face and set us back several more years with another mediocre hire. I do see Swain, Haynesworth, and othe VFLs acting very pleased this morning so IMO that means we’ve pretty much landed our big fish!

The last few days the previous players were calling Currie out from every direction saying do the right thing and hyping Gruden.

This morning it seems like they made their case at last nights meeting.

Currie will be the hero when all is said and done, in the media.
I'm just curious how Haslam handles it.

When all is said and done, all parties will be painted in a favorable light. Everyone pulled in the same direction.

Apparently a big shot defense lawyer met with Jones yesterday. Was told the name but I had had a few brewskis at the time and now it escapes me. I had never heard of him anyway. Supposedly it was about the concussion thing but that was speculation. Anyone else heard about this?

I think if there were any truth about any wrong doing, he would have already been fired or suspended. That's something Currie can't take a chance with. JMO

And what leads you to this conclusion?

Think his list is as long as preachers list??

If so, we're in trouble. There are 3-5 coaches, at most, who are "options" and would constitute a wow hire that would energize this program, give our fans/alumni hope and put us on the path to the top.

Well, to me the last 24hrs have lead me to believe the boosters really dont have Gruden in their hip pocket.

I dont believe its just Currie/Haslam being a roadblock as much as they seem to not believe he is a viable option or something else. All the smoke has probably been from the 85% courting Gruden but to no avail imho. I really hope im wrong.

It seems if Haslam/Currie were the only ones in disagreement vs all those boosters including one thats worth 5 times what Haslam is, plus the entire fanbase that they would know it would be a futile attempt to stop the inevitable.

Currie would be crucified shortly after being fired and Haslam would be overthrown if they were the only hold-up in Gruden to the Hill.

Plz, someone talk sone sense into me and make me believe again.

I don't think Haslam knew all of the details until last night...
I feel like that's when the power shift took place. JMO

This whole work thing is really getting in the way of my coaching search obsession.

And to respond to what Swain was saying on his show and someone on here saying that coaching searches are good for ratings it us true. Living in SC here I have listened to more Knoxville radio in the past two weeks than I have in the previous two years combined.

I am still holding on to the belief that if Gruden has in treat then we will get the deal done.

Hopefully Soon...

I need at least 15 chrome tabs to track everything on VN (and a few from TOS). Long time lurker here.

Gruden first, Petersen second, disappointment third :ermm:

If anything g other than those 2 will disappoint you, then you are setting yourself up for that. Gruden is more of a chance than Peterson here. Don't think Peterson would ever entertain coming here. JMO

Did you order some Dead End BarBQ? They ship to SC.

Grude morning all. After going to sleep last night with a bit of a pessimistic outlook, it appears the coaster is climbing up the tracks again.

Still don't know what I am going to do with my life when this whole thing is over. We really should keep the Gruden threads going!

Partially a joke and partially saying there aren't a lot of coaches out there that would be a "home run" hire. I don't want an up and comer I want a proven winner.
