So what was it that LWS posted on TOS? Was it bad news as far as getting Gruden is concerned?

It wasn't an overblown fantasy in 2012. I have confirmation on that from someone involved in those negotiations who has never been on VN.

Does that same person think this is serious now? I would feel more confident if it weren't for Beavers twitter posts. At first I thought they were just a warning shot but it was over the top. Didn't sound like the tweets of someone so educated and learned in human behavior but maybe I'm off base here.

He has not said anything publicly about Butch, to say anything that could get into the public about a coaching search would be unethical on so many levels....

No way he would say anything at all (if he ever did) until a public statement about letting his present coach go is made

I personally will be waiting for him.

I am good with trusting Atlanta Vol, but there are others on this board that have either hinted to or alluded to what we want.... I am not at 70% like I once was.... but I am conformably at 40%.... I would be higher if I had the confidence in the so called 85% that others here seem to have... I HOPE the 85% can win this time

I tend to believe someone that is actually present during these negotiations/talks and Atlanta VOL was supposedly there.

Hard to get any better info than that imo.

Edit: now if he goes silent, I don't know how to take that. Could be good. Could be bad. Damn this thread has cost me so much time and sleep!

If no one has provided an update, then I actually feel better that something is still in the works.

Ther person who gave me confirmation isn't in the same position this time. He also didn't tell me until after the fact, so he wouldn't tell me (and I wouldn't ask) during negotiations this time.

The Beav is a hired professional. He/she is doing exactly what has been planned. Those tweets weren't sent to further the persona that he was cultivating here. He cultivated that persona here to get everyone stirred up and get Currie's attention. Once he has that attention he could communicate.

I think people took MIT's tweets at Currie as bad news, when I think they were actually part of the op. Who knows. Don't think there have been updates from anyone of consequence since last night, but you know how people here need their Xanex. 😉

Last night's meeting probably ended late and was likely strategizing in nature with follow up with the particular parties coming over the next couple of days. Homecoming weekend. Lot's going on but also lot's of opportunity.

When they do, they are ridiculed and called trolls and their information is mocked.... They get worn down and tired of the constant bombardment... Anyone would...

Boro will not post what he knows because of it, DTO left because of it.... OldVol remains non committed because of it and even when RocktopSC posted some very good information the other day from himself and other boosters, he was ridiculed for posting a screenshot of his conversation and called made fun of for spelling errors..

I would imagine those at the meeting last night were told not to reveal any information from that meeting. I don't expect them to come back and have us press them for info they can't give. I think we are in the final stages and it's going to be crickets from them until a press conference is announced.

Not me. I said Franklin was one of the best coaches in the country when he was at Vandy and that he was going to be a star. I don't see that with Danny Mullen.

He will be present at "An opportunity for a donation event" not the same as negotiations ... unless you are buying 100% of what MIT says

Indeed it was, and LWS was one saying that in 2012 and now we learn that there were plenty of talks with Gruden then and we came close to landing him :thud:

My thoughts are that if the reluctance was on Gruden's side there would not have been any need for Hyams to throw shade on his coaching potential. I firmly believe Hyams is a water carrier and he's taken repeated whacks at the one hire UTAD could make to unite the fanbase and invigorate recruiting.

My disdain for Hyams is unbounded.
