My question was not meant to discredit him, and hope no one sees it that way.... it just keeps coming up in my mind.... I trust what you are able to catch.... I am a little old and slow.....

Why is everyone so down today, I tried to read back but didn't find anything new that would discredit anything we have believed nor discourage me about anything

From what I have gathered everyone is sad because ATL or MIT never came back with an update and LWS may have posted something on TOS that seemed discouraging

My take on "the bride" is the bride of Chucky, aka his wife. Maybe she don't want to be back in the spotlight, don't want him gone away from home so much, don't want the hassle of ask the "crazy UT fans, etc, and just wants her man home regularly instead of the long hours of a football coach.

And I know nothing more than you. But if they moved back to Knoxville, she would closer to her family and son. Knoxville obviously holds a special place in Gruden's heart. First coaching job was here, met his wife here, son goes to school here, they already own property here and his in-laws are here (not sure if this is good or bad :p so we will call that one unknown).

High hopes that something would come out of the meetings, and the lavol post of Curry didn't want to even discuss the coaching situation is my guess.

Currie has never been willing to discuss any information about a coaching search.... that is blown out of proportion imo

Absolutely. In my opinion it's the perfect opportunity to get back in with family support, a fanbase that loves them, both have ties to the university, etc.

I totally get what you are saying, and I know you weren't trying to discredit him. I wish I had time to go back and find what he said.

Seriously.

Do you still believe Beaver is aligned with Ergen? Because his twitter posts were definitely coming from a different side of personality. Maybe that's the point, who knows. I am just wondering if this is all some overblown fantasy again like 2012. I hope not, but not feeling very confident.

Given Beavers harassment of Currie on twitter yesterday, is it safe to assume that the boosters are not all on the same page as LWS and others stated on TOS?

Things seem to still be going exactly how beaver said they would. Whether that’s good or not.

Question..... That I have been very hesitant to ask, but will do so anyway, Do you think that HearfortheGrumors could be from the same place.... All three of these posters are out west, all three are in favor of Gruden, all three seem new to the board..... I am not trying to discredit any of them but if so, I find it encouraging that so much time and energy is being spent on this Gruden hire

Ergen is out west also.....Colorado I believe via Oak Ridge :hi:

I dont think we'll hear anything else, until it is announced. I have a feeling that our sources have been instructed to lock it up until the announcement, which make me think that will be this weekend.

It wasn't an overblown fantasy in 2012. I have confirmation on that from someone involved in those negotiations who has never been on VN.

I believe Butch will be gone after Saturday. If a new coach is announced soon after that, that is good news. If in fact, it is another coach who is still actively coaching we will have to wait until after the season.

If he completely dodged the questions, I would understand. But the way he worded the responses did not sit well with me at all. For example (and I'm paraphrasing) "If we build a good stadium, the fans will wanna come to the games." That's just not true.

I agree and that set me off too. Winning games and having the goal of winning the East every damn season will make fans come to the games. Our stadium could be the nicest in the world, but if the product is crap it doesn't matter. It's just a facade.

I wouldn’t read much into that. Based on history we can also expect Noname McMustGoogle so who knows. It’s a fun ride. Just hope we don’t crash and burn at the end

Yea its a ride for sure...but I am convinced we won't get Gruden it's just another 2012 Pipe Dream repeat. he is prob top target for the boosters but that's about as far as it goes IMO.

My thoughts are that if the reluctance was on Gruden's side there would not have been any need for Hyams to throw shade on his coaching potential. I firmly believe Hyams is a water carrier and he's taken repeated whacks at the one hire UTAD could make to unite the fanbase and invigorate recruiting.

I'm of the same opinion. What would anyone expect him to say?

He has not said anything publicly about Butch, to say anything that could get into the public about a coaching search would be unethical on so many levels....

No way he would say anything at all (if he ever did) until a public statement about letting his present coach go is made
