You have two options here:

1. Currie has his guy and is in no hurry to move. Maybe it's his timeline, maybe it's the future coach's.

2. Currie is a total buffoon who is slow in acting, hoping Butch turns it around, putting in peril the recruiting and a future coaching search.

Let's look at the evidence.

No official visits lined up for some time. A coach with a future would be recruiting. Are they saving official visits for a later date?

Shoop's statement that the assistants know what's going on.

These aren't rumors from anonymous posters. I choose to believe that there's a plan that's being worked that doesn't involve Butch. The fact that there seems to be no expediency with Butch's dismissal tells me someone is lined up after he's gone.

I'm out for a few days and will not be back to civilization after mid afternoon tomorrow until Sunday night. Maybe we will have an opening at the HC position at UT by then.

I enjoyed this thread but it has become a source of aggravation for me so a few days away will be good. Best wishes to all I hope you get what we all want while I am away; for Butch to be gone.

Don't get me wrong I'm still fully on the Gruden or bust train but I'm not going to go crazy about it this time either. Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst is all I can do.

If you’re not interested, why does it matter (to you) whether or not we have a coach? You could just say the job’s not open, and even if it were I wouldn’t be interested.

More respectful to the current coach than saying nothing .... if you’re not interested...

Finally another post that is positive and about what is going on or at least could be going on. Sifting through today has been the worst. SOON JUST SOON NOW!

I can agree... But with the current embarrassing mess going on... I think its best just to fire him. Heck I don't care if we forfit all the games... Lol. If he lied about hurds concussion because he knowingly played him late in the game... That right there is grounds for firing. If its about saving Butchs reputation... Dont bother... Its already destroyed.
