I've never seen so many conflicting speculation in my life. One "insider" says Gruden is a lock...and been in plans for 5 years. Another says he's already been hired basically...then actual reporters say Currie has no intention of even firing Butch at all.
It concerns me that the only things we've heard Currie say publicly...and/or reported by people paid to report things...is that he is 100% on Butch's side and intends to keep him. Currie has said NOTHING to suggest Butch is even close to being gone.
I'm sorry. I wanna be on the Grude train and want to believe these anonymous "insiders" but the facts and what we are seeing play out suggest they are simply creative...and smart trolls who are just playing some sick game for their own amusement.
I'm all in for Gruden...but there is NOTHING substantial from anyone reputable suggesting anything "Grude" is going to happen.
Wasn't something "big" supposed to happen today according to these "insiders"?
Okay...and what was that exactly?
All these folks who believe Gruden will be our next coach...would you be willing to wager say a 3 month hiatus from Volnation if he doesn't come?? Alot people say theu know a guy who saw a guy that saw Gruden and it's happening this time but that basically makes you D4H
When do you think MIT will start retracting his "sources" and saying deal fell through to cover face?
Everyones gone dark on everything, VFL's pulled all their tweets down, Atl disappeared, GTO left us, its getting cold out here in the dark. Im praying its a quiet before the storm. Maybe just maybe they were contacted by someone in the AD, and were told this is what we are doing, the reason why is because of JG. Please try and refrain from it getting out to respect Grudes wishes. Maybe...................
SOON
Ok so I was actually talking with my bro-in-law yesterday about this.
He has a theory, his theory is that Currie doesn't want to fire Jones because he will most likely have to fire Warlick after this up coming season. Because Currie has no intention of having to fire both coaches of his biggest athletic brands in the same year.
So if he knows he's most likely going to have to fire Warlick, he is trying to not fire Jones so he doesn't have to try and replace both in the same year.
Again this is my brother-in-law's theory, but if you think about it, it kind of makes sense.
Add to what you said how all we hear is how Currie is backing Jones 100% and nothing else, it does make you question things.

I feel like our next hire is going to be closer to the Mike Bobo type than the Jon Gruden type. And that's not me saying anyone here is lying, just how I am wired now thanks to past experiences.
Our last three hires: Lane Kiffin, Derek Dooley, and Butch Jones.
