Official Jon Gruden Thread XXVI

Here's the thing to me... lets say, butch didnt know about kendrick at time... and if he was as bad as ive heard he was on the field not looking like he knew where he was at, missing blocks etc. Couldnt jones, or any of the other staff on the sidelines, or up in the box, tell that there was something majorly wrong with kendrick? Hell, ive been coaching for 20 years and can tell if something is wrong with one of my players.

Based on what I've seen of the OL play this year, excluding T. Smith, the entire OL should have been in concussion protocol no later than halftime of every game.

Seriously.

I believe the Kendrick story being released in just another sign that the Boosters are reminding everyone that intend to get their way this time...

It actually confirms my position

But that's a bad play though, cause then it makes everyone from Currie down look horrible.

I mean this is really bad

This wouldn't "null a contract" with Gruden. Nor would it likely give him pause. It sounds like coaches, especially Wells) somehow circumvented the process. It's kind of hard to blame the medical personnel when the coaches are in the best position to notice an injury and at the very least failed to report this one to the medical staff. This is a really big deal for the coaches involved. Career ending stuff.

Sure hope things get rectified regardless and better protocols are in place for our players sakes!

However if there is a pending issue that could potentially interfere with a new coach success at a new school there is definitely a possibility it could null a contract depending upon if the client and lawyers involved wanted to invest in the technicality.

Currie playing chess analogy? Really? Come on man, you can't tell me that this isn't bad for the AD as a whole.

If Butch truly was fired after UGA and Currie allowed him to continue coaching and then this happened. That's on Currie's head just as much as it's on Butch's.

This is not a freaking checkers/chess analogy time, this is a serious accusation that can cause major problems for the football program and the AD

This is obviously way too complicated for you.

On the concussion issue....if this came to a head yesterday as I was told we are effectively 24 hours out. If it's going to be used as show-cause for eliminating a negotiated buy-out, there will be a good bit to document, and a mountain of legalities to get through. It may be it's being used to get Butch/Sexton back to the table again.

The fact is WE DONT KNOW, and that is the way they want it. Like everything else in this drama it's not on the fans timetable, no matter which side of the argument you fall on.

Boro what are you hearing about the Butch/Currie spat yesterday?

I suspect this is why they are supposedly conducting an internal investigation.

If the rumors about the Currie/Jones blow-up yesterday are true, one might make the assumption that it was about this. It negatively impacts the "plan". JMO

You hearing anything new about Jones and/or Gruden.

Nope....been very quiet since I got the news yesterday about the altercation between Currie and Butch.

I've not really shared much of anything about Gruden....just watching like everyone else.

Seriously, just fire him publicly already. Nothing good comes out of this. If I was underperforming at work, the boss wouldn’t say “you’re fired, but we’re keeping, and paying you until we find a replacement”

I quasi-debunked this yesterday.
It's the first two bullet points of that post.

In short, Jones tweeted/RTed 4 times in all of last October. He tweeted/RTed 1 time in October 2015.

I don't think it is significant.

Edit: The search may only pull up his actual tweets rather than RTs. And I don't feel like scrolling all the way back to October 2016 to look for RTs, hah.

Pretty sure that was before the rules were relaxed as to Head Coaches retweeting etc. But he had tweeted/retweeted already 19 times in the month of October leading to just after the UGA game.

What about the second part? Why have official visits been suspended?

For some dumb reason, I did not know, or my oldtimers kicked in again and if I did know I forgot

By the way, as some have surmised in this thread... I do NOT believe this news will have any affect on the Gruden deal NOT happening .... if anything it will force the AD's hand

I am still strongly at 70% chance we land him.... only thing that makes sense to me

I think my Grudometer has actually ticked even higher today.

All official visits were cancelled for HOMECOMING.

I was only addressing the Twitter issue.

Actually, now that I look at it, the Twitter Advanced Search doesn't show RTs. Which is asinine. My apologies for thinking Twitter was smart enough to show anything that would appear on someone's timeline in an advanced search.

I'll edit my post up above since it would appear that has gone dark as well.

No one will fault this university for firing him at this point with the concussion issue out there. Currie will not look bad and most coaches would agree that Butch deserves to be gone. I am sick of this!

Not to give your question, and preconceived notion, any more attention than necessary....but you already answered the question.

The Kendrick situation took place 3 weeks after the decision was made that he wouldn't return next year. This obviously throws a wrench into the lately rumored plan to keep him until the end of the season. We'll see how they adjust. It doesn't change the fact of the result of the booster/ AD meeting after Georgia.

You heard the same thing I did after the Georgia game.... and I can confirm it.... Butch decision was made then...
