Freeze was a very good coach.

Give Mullen Tennessee level athletes and allow him to develop Guarantano and I'm confident we can compete with anyone in the East. He's also got a QB committed there I bet he'd bring with him that looks really good.

Let me repeat, Mullen did this at Miss St....Miss St! One of the worst programs in the SEC, in the western division, with lesser talent, etc.

Mullen would be outstanding at UT. As close to a sure thing as is realistically available.

All of the other realistic candidates being discussed have considerably more risk.

By the same token, Mullen would be outstanding at UF and would be a nightmare to deal with over the next decade or longer.

JAV and brad Shephard both say norvel Is in front if Frost in Florida AD list....brad says his Florida source is better than anything he would have in TN side. Apparently AD views Norvell as having most potential with the right D.C. Hire

Would be best case for us, imo. Norvell is a decent coach, but those other guys could kill it there. Norvell doesn't seem like a potentially elite recruiter, either. I know FL recruits itself to some degree, but still. Feels like FL could do much better than him.

I don't know why everyone is surprised Currie still has CBJs back. The same writer who broke UF CC and Kendrick story broke that we are in progress of finalizing the buyout with Butch and Sexton is working to get him a Go5 landing spot.

We want Butch to be as marketable as possible to these schools so he can get a salary that will mitigate his buyout. More reason why he hasn't been fired because Currie wants him to coach this team to a bowl and have 4 straight bowls on his resume and getting there in rebuilding yr etc which will sound good to a South Alabama or school like that.

All this witch hunt to make CBJ look horrible does is hurt our exit plan.

JMO

Letting CBJ continue to coach this team has damaged his marketability. He's more likely to miss a bowl and have a losing season than win 3 of the next 4 games. The time to limit the damage has passed. Now we're just traveling the path of least resistance.

Speaking of Rich Rod... He checks a lot of boxes for Tennessee. Experienced and successful at the P5 level (4 Big East titles, 1 Pac 12 South title - 3 BCS/NY6 bowls, even an NAIA Natty). Dynamic offense (currently 6th in the NCAA in total O, 3rd in the NCAA in scoring O). Good recruiter. No real NCAA baggage (only minor stuff at Michigan).

Everyone will point to his tenure at Michigan, but remember, he improved their record in year 2 over year 1 and year 3 over year 2. Then Brady Hoke won 11 games with his players in his first year (before Hoke declined the program all the way to 5 wins in his year 4).

Rich Rod took Arizona to the Fiesta Bowl, and to only their 3rd double digit winning season in program history.

He's only 54. Base salary at Arizona is only $2.2M.

No...no. No.

Yeah, they should've already done it. And I think they know it. They're just not very decisive over there. They can make decisions but as soon as the time comes to act on those decisions the **** hits the fan.

Currie is a bit of a narcissist - he can only see things from his perspective. He's got the goal of firing Butch and hiring the next guy with as little time in between as possible. Which is fine, but he's not very good at judging the angst in the building and how others (Butch, mainly) may be feeling right now. I feel bad for Butch just as I felt bad for McElwain. It's tough to fail and then have to answer for those failures publicly.

Too many Chiefs.

When UGA actually beats a good football team I will be convinced he is legit. I don't buy the ND hype either, they were 4-8 last year and haven't beaten anyone. Notre Dame got so much credit for beating USC, who has stuggled mightily against anyone good.

Come on now. UGA and Kirby are legit. Admit it man.

With all of these insiders being repeatedly discredited and the fact that boosters and administration still seemingly aren't on the same page, I think everyone should brace for impact.

Nothing has changed. A decade of misery and we've still got people more interested in swinging their johnsons around than actually, you know, fixing the football program. Our top division rivals are firing 10-win coaches while our university president is dancing over trips to the Gator Bowl.

I'd say we're Nebraska now, but given the Huskers' record over the last ten years as compared to ours, it would be unfair to Nebraska.

Also, I keep hearing the argument that Frost is a young up a comer. He is 42, and Mullen is only 45.

I think Chad Morris will do great wherever he lands too. He was great at Clemson, and has SMU light years ahead of where they were three years ago.

Not sure how anyone would question a Mullen hire. He is about to go to his 8th straight bowl appearance at Miss St, which is almost half of the bowl appearances in the school's history.

They're most likely gonna to 9-3 this year. I would just about kill to have a 9-3 season here. He'd win 9 or 10 on the regular here with the occasional championship caliber season IMO. Hard to ask for much more than that.

Would be amazing if they hired Norvell and we got Frost. I'd like our chances.

He caught a break last year at 5-7, and his soft schedule helped him a few years. Still get the point, but it has been discussed ad nauseum that his record against ranked teams is not that good.
