i don't look for them to fire him today much as id like them to, if they are gonna fire him with cause can they get the legal papers drawn up that quick from last night? If they can I hope the 12 o'clock presser they send him down the road and name Coach G as interim

And I’m back on speaking terms with one of the ex-hubs but I don’t ever want to replay the relationship. Gruden would have needed that fence mended somewhat for the access he has due to MNF.

There’s a new crime series on CBS starring Jeremy Piven built around using social media/devices. It’s the new media. Which is why when people come in here and blast you and others, I laugh and pity them because that’s the wave of future reporting. I actually believe Beav and others are connected more so than a Hubbs or Low because their sources are people no one would suspect is hearing anything much less, saying anything to anyone. Anyway, I find it interesting.

Technology is allowing people to communicate in ways never before imagined...
ie: Anyone with knowledge and an Internet connection is becoming the media.

Gruden has 10 million on the table boys, no decision has been made yet. It is all dependent on him getting a couple more things that he wants. This is not just for his Ego like many say. He will coach here or in the NFL next year. He will not talk to any other college.

STATEMENT FROM TENNESSEE VICE CHANCELLOR/DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS JOHN CURRIE

"The health and safety of our student-athletes is our number one responsibility. Our sports medicine staff and team medical personnel have full autonomy and unquestioned authority during all team activities, including the ability to remove a player from competition and 'return to play' decisions. At all football games, the Southeastern Conference has a trained independent medical observer present who also has full authority to stop play and remove a student-athlete from competition for assessment and/or treatment.

"We have a constant and consistently communicated expectation that all coaches, staff and student-athletes remain attentive to ensure that any potential injuries are appropriately addressed-with full intentions that student-athlete safety is never compromised."

This STATEMENT ... means one of two things

1. Currie is trying to stop the leak and calm the issue

2. Currie is fed up with Butch and ready to act

I hate to say but I lean to number one

This is very odd, as normally when one of their regular segments are missing or even rescheduled, they mention it SEVERAL times.

I don't usually believe in the "signs" but I believe in this one.

The thing is, if you publish that statement, then fire Butch for the incident, you’ve basically admitted an institutional failure. Or, at least I’d use that statement as part of the way to link the school back to an injury.

On the other hand, if you publish that statement, and take no action, what you’ve said is that if there was a concussion, nobody including medical professionals and third party observers, caught it (meaning the concussion either presented in such a at as to be undiagnosible by layers of reasonable professionals, or it just didn’t happen at all).

one telling thing from that quote to me, was they kept talking about expectations but never said they were actually followed....

Lombardi worked for Raiders at the same time Gruden did. Could be true has interest in Tampa Bay -- lives there and such -- but could also be calling a friend to apply pressure to UT to make a move?

FL did it in pretty much 48 hours, if there was any truth in the matter I'd assume UT could do it just as fast as FL if not faster because it involves a player and a concussion

Sigh, so we have to ask...how do you know this?

Well, one thing is for certain. I've had more fun in this thread than I have at any UT game this year. Thanks VolNation.
