He had to lose to KANSAS to get fired from there. If he had won consistently much less a national title he would have been embraced. I posted on here when he was hired that he didn’t fit their mold of HC’s who golfed with the big oil boy boosters and attended practically every bbq...just not him. Didn’t think it would work, but where he failed was in connecting with the state’s high schools. His base was and is Florida. Landing a number of Florida studs to top off a heavy Texas class that’s already committed a year early would have printed money for him. By the time his last class measured up, he had lost his team. Those elitists in Austin have their own language, for sure. Winning is universal.

Agreed to an extent. The only leg up they have for Frost is that his current connection to Florida pipelines will be better served there and they've won recent championships.

This is false. He wanted the job but not all of the oversight that came with it. He didn’t want to be micromanaged and our AD wouldn’t play ball. That is a big reason it fell apart.

Regardless of who the next coach is, I just hope they hate Bama/Florida/UGA the way we fans do. Make the rivalries meaningful again. I want a coach who's gonna trash talk Bama and run the score up on Florida.

I felt like you could always feel how much Fulmer hated those guys and I thought Kiffin even did a good job of stirring things up (see Alshon Jeffery comments) while he was here.

Counzo called Charlie strong and told him how some of the money guys were treating him along with the fans. It is a big reason why Strong didn’t come here.

I don’t think MIT or Bubba are trolls. It’s clear they’re a part of the agenda. I think that agenda is Gruden plan A and has about a 20% chance of happening. Plan B is 75% likely. Plan B is we hire a stud and get back to being serious about football. The public pressure being applied may not land Gruden, but it forces the hand of the admin to get serious.

The other 5% is we do what we’ve been doing. But I think that’s about to change.

I don’t understand why people get so bend out of shape about the people that share info here. Believe it or don’t believe it. Or hope for it but remain skeptical. It’s funny that people drag Boro and DTO thru the mud but don’t give SBV any flak. They all shared what they thought was real (and was real according to the people telling them).

It’s a fun ride man. I have hope we’ll get us a real winner. Whether is gruden or frost or Mullen or whoever... good days are ahead and soon this thread will once again be about the studs we’re pulling on the recruiting trail and how we’re gonna beat the Ish out of bama once we’ve reset.
