Let this sink in for a minute

This man Jim Haslam is destroying a NFL and the University of Tennessee at the same time. I hope he dont think about buying a CFL team.

That's something I just can't seem to wrap my fawking head around.

Haslam wanted Currie and made sure he got him.

WTF does Haslam want?

What all rich and powerful people want ... MORE POWER AND TO BE CATERED TO.

I take this to mean our man is still in discussion.. hope I am right .... did you have the impression that he is a LONG shot? Please excuse my questions because I DO NOT want to place you in any more of an awkward position than you already are!

He is still in discussion. I didn’t get odds either way really. I can say that I found it interesting that it was not shot down or laughed about. It was and actual conversation about pros and cons of him and a few others. Again just academic between friends.

I have really thought about this..... I honestly think not going to the game Saturday is a very good idea. As many said, as soon as the AD got whiff of the idea, they came forward and spoke out... their weakness is money, and what better way to hurt the people that care nothing about us as fans and investors into the program than to protest by sitting out. I really think we need to empty neyland. Nothing against the players, but if we want a big time coach, someone to make us relevant we need to hit these power struggle people where it hurts. It's time to shift this power into the right place. Academics are able to do the things they do because of the athletics and boosters. Time to stand up and make a statement. Let's get Tennessee football back!!!!!!! Empty neyland

Exactly. We got very minor penalties from his sanctions. I think the worst was reducing the number of recruiting visits by 2 or 3 and couldn't have visits for a couple of games.

I would take winning big with minor penalties to this current BS.

He is light years ahead of what we have. And would win at a high clip and have us relevant again. Plus Currie still likes Kiffin

Just some observations.

As Shoop said, we all know what is going on around here.

But why is it that the only smoke here is about Gruden? Not just on VolNation, but anywhere.

You would think that if we are talking with other possible candidates that there would be some smoke somewhere. We all know that agents leak information to enhance or leverage their product, whether for a better position or just to get them a better contract in their existing job.

The one thing that scares me is the way Currie handled the baseball coach position where there was no information and all of a sudden he popped someone out of the blue that created a Google storm.

As long as butch is the coach, I think we need to keep the stadium as empty as possible so they know we are not playing. They are STEALING OUR MONEY TOO!

What are the chances Haslem family wants Gruden as option for the browns instead...so they would try and nix him at UT?

Absolutely. You too!

Had to take a break yesterday til all the commoners and peasants disappeared. Looks much more palatable now!

You had to take a break to let your fake news roll off the ticker. Simple name calling is your last line of defense.

In my opinion #EmptyNeyland is a terrible movement. I think it hurts recruiting of players and future coaches as much as our performance this year.

I just think it sends a message that if things are good we're all in. If things are bad you're on your own. Just my thoughts. I'm sure I'll get blasted for this.

I happen to agree with this and will probably get put on someone’s ignore list for saying so. As disappointed as I am in the season, and whatever my thoughts are about CBJ, I was one of a scattering of Vols proudly dressed in orange in the stadium at the Bama game. I’ll support the team no matter what else is going on around them.

PS - I really really hope we get Gruden
