Official Jon Gruden Thread XXV

In the same analogy though, it could be the donors fault by saying that when he went to get the money from the lenders, they told him that they do not think that his business will be successful and deny him the loan.

One of us is not understanding the other.

In the simplest form.

I believe the donor side and Gruden side are ready to go.

The AD side may not be. Maybe they are, but if this deal doesn't go through, its gonna be om the AD side.

As I said, this is not the best analogy on the whole situation, there is so much more involved. But just trying to give my opinion on why its not "done" yet.

So, after this is over what do we do with all of those on preachers list? Will they be cast into the lake of fire?

i told y'all what i'm going to do with them ... take them all off the list and start over.

i don't want/need to have to sort thru their drivel on here, so i ignore list them.

when we hire gruden, i'll take them all off, and let them have opportunity to act civil.

second chance and all.

i know i'm nobody, the list is funny, but it's nothing more than not having to sift thru a dumpster behind mcdonalds to find a chicken nugget.

Morning all! I see that some have implemented my snowflake rating system. It partners well with Knuck’s Invitation to leave.

Looking forward to seeing what 10/31 holds for us today! Also, the best Halloween candy are Reese’s min cups followed by kit kats and crunch bars. Frozen Reese’s cups all day.

Bruh fite me IRL if you ain't about twix

Beaver, AV, or whoever can answer my question. Why is it thought to be a “done deal”? I mean in 2012 it felt different than it does this time around, because of the silence of insiders and out of the AD. I mean but is it really different this time? I want to believe so bad. I want Jon F-ing Gruden!!!

Yep, it is a university first.

And yes, I'm not sure some understand the complexity of this or how big it really is.

I think most if not all of the scepticism and resistance from those that refuse to believe Gruden will be our next HC, do understand how big this is and know our administration.

Power, ego, big money and history have a slight edge on, yes, it could be denied. If there wasn't a chance of it being denied, the big money guys wouldn't have to threaten cutting out the money.

I'm more optimistic than I was a week ago.

While it is a University first, you can't expect big name coaches to come here and be at a recruiting disadvantage against the Bama's of the world due to them being able to get athlete's admitted that we would not.

Academics has to live in reality and understand, for whatever it says about our society, that football revenue drives the boat but that doesn't mean that both cannot flourish.

If we hire gruden, I'd post the list of the naysayers,so we can begin the tar and feathering!

Are you going to post the list on here in one glorious post before you remove them?

I'd counter your observation with a question for you. Do you know when we started the "process"?

It may be a long one, but in order to judge where we are in the "process" you have to know when we started... It's reasonable to believe we started the process long ago.

Well are we talking about the process of developing a football team or the process of hiring a coach. In the context of Currie's conversation it was the former.

Regarding the process of firing/hiring a coach, it's also reasonable to believe it could be in its infancy since Butch (regrettably) is still the head coach.

i think they mean done deal between gruden and the boosters.

they've handed jg to the ad on a silver platter.
it's up to the ad and aa to get on board.

amirite?

Understood. There really are only 3 options:

1. AD has the money supplied by donors, but is having a hard time pulling the trigger to get Gruden due to administration side being vags.

2. Donors really do not want to donate enough money for Gruden. Gruden has said his price - UT can't afford it.

3. Gruden said no and we are totally fubar.... :furious3:

Springbokvol did

Trying to catch up... so I am several pages back yet and saw this post...........

This is from the 2012 Coaching search.... Springbok has said this time he has hopes that it is Gruden and UT has done or is doming what it needs todo but does not know... Just like the rest of us

I was really hoping to be Gruden for trick or treat this year...dont wanna jinx it though. Maybe next year. I am still amazed at the lack of creditable leaks. Its the one thing that really concerns me. I have a hard time believing that all involved are smart enough to play things with all these cryptic messages and whats seems to be a lack of effort.

Went to bed feeling confident but not as much now. What do you think about checkthetape's comments last night?

CheckTheTape sells a much more plausible scenario than Beaver and would more closely match what the Hyams/LWS/JAV's of the world are selling and being told.

how about this ... if it doesn't pan out the way you expect, put ov on your ignore list.

but stop trying to demean him saying he's full of it.
no need for that.

it don't make you look ... like whatever you're striving to look like.
