Official Jon Gruden Thread XXV

You don't have to hear anything, just look at the product on the field. Doesn't take any "inside information" to come to a reasonable conclusion on Butch's fate.

I fully expect for Butch to be gone (expected him to be gone awhile ago honestly) but I'm done giving the UT administration the benefit of the doubt. I lost all faith in them to do the right thing.

I enjoy reading this thread daily and some of the various promoters. The entertainment value is about the same for me as the new AT&T commercial. You know where one guy wakes up in a bed of poison ivy, a woman is chugging a bottle of spoiled milk, the guy returns to ramming his head into a low beam after hitting it accidentally the first time, the woman enjoying her paper cut while licking an envelope, and the guy giddy about having his arm trapped in a vending machine. Soon very soon yes it will be entertaining to watch.

That commercial is awesome

We are all walking into a dark room, and we’re complaining that the furniture is not where we think it should be. When the light is finally turned on, we’ll understand why things happened the way they have.

Have faith! Go Vols!

There’s not enough likes for this !

I agree. This may not be the best analogy, but it should suffice.

Average Joe has a dead end job making 35 grand a year. He's paying the bills and has a nice savings.

He wants more and decides to invest his life savings and open his own business. Its a huge gamble, and would completely change his life. Either way.

He gets investors, finds a location and has everything lined up. Everything looks great.

Now, what could possibly derail this situation? Jane, Joes wife. She's happy with being a wife and mother and the way things are, just being a family and raising the kids and saving for their college education.

Joes plan is solid and ready to go, Jane should be on board, but she has the ability to turn it into a complete cluster fug.

Obviously I could detail this a little more, but I didn't want to make it too long and this should be enough.

In the same analogy though, it could be the donors fault by saying that when he went to get the money from the lenders, they told him that they do not think that his business will be successful and deny him the loan.

I haven't had faith in the UT AD in over a decade. Maybe things will change... maybe...

No worries dude. Blood is running hot and it's a tense situation for Vols everywhere. I don't like being the laughingstock of CFB

Morning!

Happy Grudeoween!

Looks like there won’t be anything happening today, what with the meetings later this week and Currie finally breaking his silence last night. Doesn’t make sense he’d say all that last night and then announce anything today.

Looks like the waiting continues...

Don’t lose heart, grud-e-rooters! I believe we have our man.

Eat some candy today, keep vigil in the pumpkin patch and have true sincerity for our Great Grude!

Have a good day and be safe when you’re out with the kids tonight!

So, after this is over what do we do with all of those on preachers list? Will they be cast into the lake of fire?

Didn't you listen to Currie last night? It's a long process.

I'd counter your observation with a question for you. Do you know when we started the "process"?

It may be a long one, but in order to judge where we are in the "process" you have to know when we started... It's reasonable to believe we started the process long ago.

Morning all! I see that some have implemented my snowflake rating system. It partners well with Knuck’s Invitation to leave.

Looking forward to seeing what 10/31 holds for us today! Also, the best Halloween candy are Reese’s min cups followed by kit kats and crunch bars. Frozen Reese’s cups all day.

There are obvious signs that Butch was fired weeks ago, some might even argue that he fired himself at the end of last season. If you believe that, then you must believe that Currie has a plan. There aren't two ways about it. Again, he is either incompetent or a benevolent evil genius. Pick one and every other thought you have about this should be built from there.

What signs though are you pointing to? Recruiting? There's a lot of reasons why it's died down, first is uncertainty of him being here or not next year. That'd make it real hard to recruit if you couldn't tell them for sure you'll be here.

Also there has been no major news leaks. Again, not talking about rumors on here, I'm talking ESPN, Fox Sports, SI or anyone like that. I don't buy the story that everyone knows but no one is saying anything. The FL situation blows that idea out of the water, cause right now the big story is how could a two time SEC East winning coach be fired and a coach in his fifth year who's team is regressing at an alarming rate still has a job.

Until someone can without a shadow of doubt point to something like that then yes others will question everything the longer Butch Jones is on the sidelines at Neyland.
