I think the fan base could deal with BJ coaching the rest of the season IF the AD sand BJ came out and said this is what is going to happen.
We need confidence what is happening is headed the right direction otherwise we have no confidence it is
After reading through the nightly updates, I have a question. The BOT meets on Thursday and Friday. I can only assume since I have never been a Trustee, that the Athletic Committee will also meet during that time. Are there any other meetings happening this week or next as referenced by Buba?
Everyone knows what is happening on, even Shoop has said, "Nobodys stupid, we know what is going on." I refuse to believe that Currie is oblivious. There is something afoot. Why the total silence? This will probably be the biggest hire of his career and I do not believe is sitting in his office twiddling his thumbs. The big donors are tired of mediocrity and they know how close we were in 2012. The xfactor this time is PM along with PF. I have followed Beaver and Buba's comments closely, and while I may not be able to wax poetic like HearForGrumors, I believe that patience will be rewarded. One thing that intrigues me is the silence from Atlanta VOL is deafening.
Good morning! I went to bed at 11 last night, but a lot happened in here over night. I have many thoughts on this.
-I think the #emptyneyland thing is ridiculous. Anyone paying attention can see that Butch has been fired. I feel for the boys. I get, however, that folks think it is their best way to protest. It frustrates me for the small business owners that end up impacted the most.
-I don't understand why people are mad that the AA wants to be the "Harvard of the South although I've never heard it described that way. Strong athletics and strong academics are symbiotic. Look at Michigan. No one should care more or less about either of these sides. TN is a UNIVERSITY first and foremost.
-our new bff HearforGrumors helped drive home to me yesterday the immense scope of this. No way did these negotiations start last week or even last month. An incredible amount of leg work has gone into this on every side of this equation. To me, bubba and MIT are the obvious talismans of that. There are people so heavily invested in this that they have sent/paid people to share information to influence the court of public opinion. This isn't a matter of Currie calling Gruden and saying, "hey, you wanna coach here?" This deal won't be denied because of the investment that has already been made.
- side note... funny to me how when we call people newbies they don't understand that we are talking about this thread and not this forum.
I appreciate that. I was gonna go back and get caught up, but think I'll just stay here! I don't want to go to the down side of the roller coaster this early.
