That statement should SCARE US ALL TO DEATH.
We all very much doubt that it will happen, but what if there are no more losses this season.
It’s possible that we beat USM, MU, LSU, VU.
very, very unprobable, but possible..

But, if Hyams is saying a 7-5 record brings Butch back in 2018, that is horrible. He should be gone now!

Not going to happen. He's done regardless of what happens.

I joined back in 2012 during the search. Didn’t discover the RF until later. Who was the “frost” of 2012 this crew was all in on?

The worst part of Gruden 2012 was ending up with butch jones. That was return to earth at terminal velocity

LWS didn’t exactly say he was the main target. He said that but if you read his follow ups he clearly meant after we get turned down by everyone above Frost that Scott would be our top target who would listen.

Larry really going out on a limb here lol

He is predicting we swing for the fences and come up empty. Shocker.

I was half joking.

His quote reads that when everyone in front of him turns us down, he will become the top option. Which will be 100% true no matter who we hire.

Whether anyone wants to hear it or not, Frost and Mullen are the top two who would at least lend an ear and listen.

I'm not sure UF is the better job anymore. Our recruiting footprint has more talent than ever and our in-state talent has grown significantly. You can only sign 25* (technically). We wrote the book on recruiting nationally and now you see the powerhouses like BAMA following that model of pulling from everywhere. There's been nothing wrong with our recruiting class ranks.

Yes, you can put together a team using only Florida players but that would be incredibly stupid and it's definitely not the model Meyer used when he was there.

That said, UF is perceived as the better job and perception matters but UF also just sent up a giant red-flag with this 'for cause' nonsense. Do you want to work for someone who agrees to pay you x amount and then suddenly decides to engage in shady tactics to avoid paying you?

I think there's a decent chance that the way they've handled this firing hurts them. Although I've questioned why we've hung on to Jones this long, I have faith in Currie and I think the way he's playing this could ultimately be the right way to handle it. He appears to be very shrewd. I could see him, Phillip Fulmer, and Peyton along with this top job swaying Frost to come here. This is a goldmine.

Devil's Advocate and to rain on the parade a little bit...he could also be wildly incompetent and/or there's all kinds of backbiting going on amongst the big money folks. It would yield an observationally equivalent outcome to him being shrewd.

True. Just hope it finally pans out for the good guys this time. Tired of the bull crap.

Frost isn't going to butch out. That is ridiculous imo.

Yep not sure how anyone compares a guy that didn't play at a high level and coached under Rich Rod/Debord and never was a coordinator at a high level vs a National Championships QB that played in NFL on defense learned under Parcells, Belicheck, monte, Gruden, Osborne and Kelly, was an OC for a Power 5 team in the college football playoff. Not even comparable the makeup of the two. His last 2 QBs at Oregon finished #1 in qB efficiency and two weeks ago his current QB was #2. So he might end with 3 of 4 yrs with the top QB in country per NCAA... yet he is Butch 2.0?

Yep. Frost and Jones aren't in the same stratosphere.
