First charges filed in Mueller's Russia probe...

WASHINGTON — A professor with close ties to the Russian government told an adviser to Donald J. Trump’s presidential campaign in April 2016 that Moscow had “dirt” on Hillary Clinton in the form of “thousands of emails,” according to court documents unsealed Monday.

The adviser, George Papadopoulos, has pleaded guilty to lying to the F.B.I. about that conversation. The plea represents the most explicit evidence connecting the Trump campaign to the Russian government’s meddling in last year’s election.

“They have dirt on her,” the professor told him, according to the documents. “They have thousands of emails.”

Mr. Papadopoulos was quietly arrested in July and has since been cooperating with the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, records show. Mr. Papadopoulos’s conversation in April raises more questions about a meeting in June at Trump Tower, where Mr. Trump’s eldest son and senior advisers met with Russians who were similarly promising damaging information on Mrs. Clinton.

Trump Campaign Adviser Met With Russian to Discuss ‘Dirt’ on Clinton - The New York Times

Papadapolous attempted to undermine the Clinton campaign by obtaining info from the Russian official. Then when confronted by the FBI, he lied about it.

Now he's singing to the FBI. Trump sheep can spin it however they want. This is just the beginning.

Agreed. The fact that George P. lied to the FBI is far more damning on its face than the Manafort/Gates indictments. He obviously would only lie if the truth revealed impropriety. That he accepted a plea bargain should have Trump very, very nervous. Donald Jr. is likely next on Muellers hit list.

Kid is a nobody. This is only a problem for himself

People need to understand one thing when talking to the FBI. Lying is a crime, unless you are Hillary Clinton

LOL - Pelosi wants another "outside" investigation into collusion.

Nancy Pelosi calls for 'fully independent' investigation of Trump, Russia ties - Washington Times

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said she still wants to see yet another investigation launched.

“Even with an accelerating Special Counsel investigation inside the Justice Department, and investigations inside the Republican Congress, we still need an outside, fully independent investigation to expose Russia’s meddling in our election and the involvement of Trump officials,” Ms. Pelosi said in a statement.

The FBI considers omission a lie only if the intention is to mislead. They probably have their ducks in a row.

Suspect: "I didn't mean to mislead you with that omission. I thought you were going to follow up with a specific question later."

FBI: "welp, let him go. he didn't mean to lie to us. we just didn't ask the right questions."

Sounds like where Manafort and Gates went wrong was never setting up a nonprofit to launder their money through.

It's worked for the Clinton's for years

The idea is to set small fires and see what comes running out of the woods. Then you wack them in the head with a hammer.

Democratic “power lobbyist” Tony Podesta is resigning from the Podesta Group, after coming under investigation by FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Politico reported Monday.

“Podesta announced his decision during a firm-wide meeting Monday morning and is alerting clients of his impending departure,” Politico reported. Podesta’s brother, John Podesta, served as chairman of Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

The news came just hours after Mueller charged lobbyist and former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and his partner Rick Gates with 12 counts related to alleged money laundering, tax evasion, violating lobbying rules, and making false statements.

Manafort is a sleaze who was tight with wealthy Russians who were/are cronies of Putin. He was also tight with--and had been paid millions by--pro-Putin Ukrainian politicians. Is is the guy you want running a presidential campaign? If you are a pro-Russian sleaze like Trump, I guess the answer is yes. Manafort had the GOP position on Ukraine changed in the GOP platform in a way beneficial to Russia, just before the election. Manafort was a man compromised by Russian interests--as Trump is, and just as Flynn was.

A president who is compromised by a foreign dictator and enemy of the United States is a dangerous thing--and those cornballs who pretend it is no big deal are just displaying their ignorance and their prejudice. And lets not pretend Trump hasn't been compromised. Dirty Russian money bailed out his property company. That alone is one reason for his bromance with Putin. He publicly slobbered over the Russian dictator for weeks not only prior to the election and after! Disgusting.

Presidents and top American government officials should have one priority--acting in the best interest of the United States. Trump and Kushner both clearly wanted to use their U.S. government positions and power to help further their own personal business interests. That is corruption, at a minimum. I don't know how it will all shake out--but I know Trump is corrupt and anybody who doesn't think his bromance with Putin is suspicious is both naive and biased in the extreme.

The Obama campaign organization, Obama For America, paid nearly a million dollars to the same law firm that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) used to funnel money to Fusion GPS, the firm that produced the Trump dossier, according to a new report.

Obama for America began the payments to Perkins Coie in April 2016 — the same time the law firm hired Fusion GPS to look into ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, The Federalist’s Sean Davis reported Sunday.

This revelation could mean that President Obama and other administration officials may have, along with the Clinton campaign and the DNC, helped fund the unverified Trump dossier, which was used by the FBI to get a surveillance warrant on a Trump campaign official and used as a roadmap for the FBI’s investigation into any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The timing and nature of the payments to Perkins Coie by Obama’s official campaign arm raise significant questions about whether OFA was funding Fusion GPS, how much Obama and his team knew about the contents and provenance of the dossier long before its contents were made public, and whether the president or his government lieutenants knowingly used a partisan political document to justify official government actions targeting the president’s political opponents named in the dossier. According to the Washington Post, Fusion GPS was first retained by Perkins Coie on behalf of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in April of 2016.

Federal Election Commission records for Obama For America show that, since April 2016, the organization paid over $972,000 to Perkins Coie.

OFA, paid nearly $800,000 to Perkins Coie in 2016 alone, according to FEC records. The first payments were made April 25-26, 2016, and classified as “Legal Services,” totaling $98,047.

The second batch of payments, also classified as “Legal Services,” was disbursed to Perkins Coie on September 29, 2016, totaling $700,000. Payments from OFA to the law firm in 2017 totaled $174,725 through August 22, 2017.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) said Sunday on CBS’s Face the Nation that members of the Clinton campaign and the DNC should re-testify before the Senate intelligence committee in light of the new revelations.

“They absolutely need to be recalled,” she said. “It’s difficult to imagine that a campaign chairman, that the head of the DNC would not know of an expenditure of this magnitude and significance. But perhaps there’s something more going on here. But certainly it’s worth additional questioning of those two witnesses.”

And yet your girl Hillary still won't be President. How do you morons not comprehend this? You should be on your knees pleading that Trump stays President considering he is the most middle of the road guy available. Imagine what happens when Pence comes in. You might have to create an underground railroad..
