Wish I had answers. Would be easier to make something up if I was trying. Still holding tight to what I was told earlier in the week and it still matches up with whats been transpiring.....just these oddities surrounding continue to be a Tennessee staple and Ill never get it.
All the Nega-Grudes need to chill. I still think were fine. Currie may be playing all this close to the chest for a reason (ESPN, Grudens son finishing his season, etc.). Like previously stated, once Butch is gone the media will turn into blood thirsty dogs wanting to be the first to report any coaching prospects or hires...Currie knows this IMO. I think theres some resistance on who should be interim and thats forcing Currie to hold CBJ. Lets see what the 12:00 presser holds and go from there.
Tennessee coach Butch Jones: No plans to resign after Sunday meeting
You know what this means? It means the Grud turned you down. 10-11 million was not enough because the fan base will not allow for success at UT right now. You did this to yourselves. There is only one person that WANTS this job right now and it's Jones. Look in the mirror.
Since my name is in this I feel the need to reiterate I do not think Gruden will be our next coach. I would love it, yes, but realistically I am still at 10% of it being a reality and at this point that is just because he has not said he is not interested publicly.
I do believe Butch is gone, he knows he is gone, and why Currie is not announcing is a mystery to me. Even if he is going to finish the season he should announce something today. Should have yesterday. If the players like him personally they might play harder to send him out on a good note the same as if there were an interim they all liked.
I am starting to wonder if they just do not feel comfortable with anyone on staff as interim and if Butch remaining is the the best choice for interim I guess I can stretch my mind to where that makes sense. What makes NO sense is the fact the AD has said nothing.
