As I stated earlier, I believe his boldness today is due to his knowledge that Butch is gone.

YES .... In the very beginning... I was told three things

1. Butch was done (no timing giving) this after Ga game
2. Money was there to hire a big time coach
3. No name given on who that hire would be but I would be happy with it

I also believe what DTO, Boro, and OldVol have posted

Just wondering, what is in it for Butch to remain coach these last few weeks if he was indeed "fired" after the Georgia game? Because these losses and the media scrutiny have hurt him with regards to getting another job.

Sorry. I wasn't a part of those negotiations, so I don't care to speculate.

Since my name is in this I feel the need to reiterate I do not think Gruden will be our next coach. I would love it, yes, but realistically I am still at 10% of it being a reality and at this point that is just because he has not said he is not interested publicly.

I do believe Butch is gone, he knows he is gone, and why Currie is not announcing is a mystery to me. Even if he is going to finish the season he should announce something today. Should have yesterday. If the players like him personally they might play harder to send him out on a good note the same as if there were an interim they all liked.

I am starting to wonder if they just do not feel comfortable with anyone on staff as interim and if Butch remaining is the the best choice for interim I guess I can stretch my mind to where that makes sense. What makes NO sense is the fact the AD has said nothing.

Good post, this is where I'm at but feel more confident with Gruden. I understand why you aren't though.

Until the AD issues a statement that Butch has been fired I wont be comfortable. Also, its my personal opinion that Gruden will not be the coach. The reason is on Grudens side, I think UT would take him and pay the $$$ but Gruden is not interested, intrigued yes, but in the end he will not come.
