I honestly think the UF job was more attractive when Mac took over. I won't be shocked if they do poorly in this search. Recruiting against a rejuvenated Miami and FSU isn't for everyone. Also I think any agent worth their salt will heavily remind coaches UF's "firing with cause" is a huge red flag. Basically reneging on the contract

My gosh... watching the end of the KY game

Warrior... 👀

Butch has had so many one play game enders this year

GT was a win
Florida pass
USC Td drop last play
Warrior INT drop to seal it

Not defending Butch, but truly three simple player executions away from being 6-2

Crap UK, UF and USC teams that should never come down to one big play.

Currie should not be judged on the when or what he communicates to a frustrated fan base. No matter what he says he will be ripped. I will judge Currie after the process is over. Players won’t find out via twitter like at Florida.

Honestly what happens at Florida this weekend looked bad on the admin and the program. It was second rate.

No one knows what’s up. Currie is likely working the proper back channels and it’s not like we could interview Frost or Mullen next week and proper feelers likely went out to Chip and Gruden.

If some reports are that Butch is holding the staff together and this is the seniors best chance for success then maybe I see it. I believe Butch knows and I think a negotiated buyout is agreed.

Currie should be judged at the end of the firing/hiring process and not now imo.

This is basically where I'm at.

But Currie sure is making it damn hard for me to want to give him the benefit of the doubt at this point.

Honestly Nick, average 9-3 10-2 and UT admin would be thrilled IMO. I’m not convinced they have the same passion to win football games as others do at the moment.

I know we've beat this topic up, but he's averaged about 9 wins a season at MSU. He wouldn't do a better job with more talent and an easier division?

Yeah and he was the first new coach to win his division each of his first two years. And they fired him halfway through his third year.

In many ways I don’t blame them. Things never looked great with him. But the optics are terrible.

Still plays Bama every year... whom he’s never beat

UGA appears stronger than any team in the West.

Who knows what Florida is about to do

The past strength of those divisions does not predict the future. A lot of coach shifting in both these last two years

Yes - two young boys. One will be going to Kindergarten next year. Looks like they are going to have to live with the housing costs. Our daughter is in nursing who left her last job to have her second child. She may have to go back to work at least part time. Wow - what a commute! Thanks for your information.

Got to admit I hope they do because grandpa and grandma will be heading that way to find a home near them. Grandma refuses to be away from her grandchildren and we love us some lowcountry.

It's great. I met my wife here and have two little ones. My brother settled here and has a child and now my parents own a condo here and split time between here and Kingsport so we have made it home and overall love it.

Miss falls in TN still tho but think I always will.

lol at 10 wins not being enough. We have an approximate historical .680 winning % at UT, which is second in the SEC. Let's get real.

Well, I started the day in a foul, desparate mood football-wise. Then Florida news came and I hit a new low. But with the news from 247 that Butch is done and that it’s just a matter of timing, I feel slightly better. I still think we miss a bowl game at this rate and that an interim coach would do better.

If we make a mediocre hire though I will return to my previous levels of desparation.

Yeah it's probably why it will be Norvell. The Fl sports agent that broke all of the JMAC firing stuff Saturday morning said yesterday he was the clear front runner... if itis Norvell the tune of many on here would change I assume since we don't want him as our coach

Yea, being in Memphis, I have been talking about Norvell. He would be on my list if Gruden said no.

The reality is any one we might bring probably isn't beating Bama. Defeatist, I know, but they're just too good.

Also important to keep in mind Mullen is still young. We would be players for the East year in and year out with Gruden, Frost, Mullen or Campbell. I feel pretty confident in that.

Yeah he is at top of most early hot boards and the sports agent that dropped all the Mac news said yesterday that he was the clear lead candidate.

Thanks. Great. Hope like hell they hire him. Give me Bobo all day long over him if it comes that far down the line

I’m trying not to be negative, just honest. I don’t think a Gruden type hire could AVERAGE 10 wins a year here. With Alabama not showing any signs of regression, UGA starting to build at a Bama level and Florida’s commitment to getting better. I am afraid UT is looking at a CEILING of 10 wins a year.

I get that. Was thinking about doing what your parents did if it all happens. Get a 2 bed condo here for us and the kids to come back to occasionally with a couple places over there. They would need a regular home, but we could go condo.

I have 2 main reasons I don't think he is a good hire.

Convince me otherwise. I am open minded.

1) the out scoring Method doesn't win enough in the SEC. can he play defense and keep his offense on the field long enough to rest a D???

2) he is winning with a program that Fuente left in great shape.
