This is one time I am very comfortable with the news... I do not believe the date has anything to do with anything....
Butch met with Currie tonight and his fate was sealed.... He is gone.... Now it is just a matter of timing... I believe this has as much to do with being in an intern type position for him as anything else.
Relax.... the deal is done....
Soon!
Its prorated. So yes, yes it does. Technically it gets smaller each day by the tune of about 5500$.

Butch and Currie met to go over what theyd discussed a few weeks to ago to make sure they were on the same page. Your done here and will receive X amount of dollars. In exchange, we want you to coach one more week and keep the guys fighting for a bowl game, going to class and finishing strong. Are we clear?
Thats my guess.
He knows what he's walking away with. Whether he leaves tomorrow or at the end of the year (which won't happen). He knows his number already.
My 2,000th post!!!!
I was hoping to save this for a happier post filled with Peyton dancing and all other manner of celebratory gifs. However, here we are. As Vol fans it feels like yet another kick to the nuts every second that Butch is the head coach.
Here is where I have a case for optimism. I have NO inside sources and NO inside information whatsoever. This is simply my assessment of things I think "could" be happening right now.
Every day they trot ole Butchy out there as our head coach is nauseating for us. I get it. Here is why I think it is better for us in the long run. Florida fires their coach who has won 2 straight East titles. They are now "officially" on the hunt for a new coach. They can form search committees, talk to agents, etc. They now have a head start on us in that regard. That would seem to be a bad thing and put us behind the 8 ball since everybody and their brother knows Butch won't be here next year. Why would Currie let him dangle like that and waste time searching for the next coach? This tells me that we have identified our target and could/should be working to get that done. If we didn't have a target in mind, we would have to go through those same steps like everybody else. So, each day we have Butch is a day I tell myself we are working to get a deal done with our #1 target. I wished he would have pulled the trigger after Bama and let an interim take us the rest of the way, but there is obviously a reason to let him dangle.
Now, all of this could be trumped if it turns out Currie is a complete buffoon and doesn't know his butt from a hole in the ground....which could end up being true. If so, heaven help us.
Read this last statement carefully:
"Head coach Butch Jones and athletic director John Currie met Sunday to discuss the future of the Tennessee football program, sources told GoVols247 Sunday evening.
Barring any unforeseen developments Sunday night or Monday morning, Jones will coach Tennessee (3-5, 0-5 SEC) this week against Southern Miss (5-3, 3-2 Conference USA), those sources said, but the fifth-year head coach's future beyond Saturday is unknown.
The situation remains fluid, as sources have told GoVols247 that Jones's fate has been decided, with only the timing and the announcement of his firing to be settled.
Looks like a Done Deal to me... We all cool guys.... RELAX, drink some prine juice and it will all be fine in the morning//////
Power T has a good observation. Let him meet with the team in the morning and resign at noon. Thats what Im believing for. No way he coaches in Neyland Saturday.
Just like lllated94 said .. hope for all of us and peace before we close our orange eyes tonight..Dude is NostradamusRead this last statement carefully:

I do not know tthe significance of it but Fulmer and Majors both fired on a Tuesday night. At least that was when the media let the cat out of the bag.
